37p a litre compared to Bundaberg's £1.30 for 375ml. :toot:

Do Aldi do a non-sugar-free version?

Not that I'm aware of, no. Just the one pumped full of aspartame goodness.

Off the cuff, I'd say it's probably about as sweet as Bundaberg is, but it's lacking that medicinal hint you get with a proper root beer. Worth a cop for 37p though, even if it's not to your taste.

I see jawa has joined New Scientist.

They often frequent my (parents') garden. A lot of people don't like them but I enjoy watching them and listening to them talk.

But you’re bound to be biased towards your own family.

you'd be surprised
if i hear my brother talk about how deep the matrix sequels are one more time i might commit a war crime

Just wait until you find out Prince Andrew is a real person and not just slang for "nonce that can't sweat".

I've just switched mobile provider from O2 to Sky but am confused as to whether I need to cancel anything with my previous provider.

I've set up an account with Sky and text O2 for my PAC. That's come through and my number has been ported over to my Sky SIM.

Do I need to tell O2 that I've cancelled, or are they aware now that the number has been moved?

Cheers.

Cheers. Everything I've read suggests you don't need to contact them other than the text, but it's really not very clear. Their PAC text reply suggests there are £0.00 charges, but doesn't mention if there's a another month to pay.

I think you're right, just for peace of mind I'm going to double check!

Yeah they might have made things easier but normally what I used to do was: cancel my contract - it then becomes Pay as you go - then move that across to another provider with the PAC

This post is exempt from the No Context Thread.

If you guys received a birthday present and it was something you already owned, would you ask the gift giver to sort out a return or would you just say thank you and not say anything?

I got a book delivered to my mum via Amazon and she immediately called me up to say she already has it and that I need to get it refunded.

I just thought it was a bit rude but I don't know if I'm being too sensitive.

If it were me, I'd probably say thanks and leave it.

As the gifter, I probably wouldn't be arsed if my mum did it, but I suppose I might be a bit upset if a friend asked to return something.

I'm sure she just didn't want you to have wasted your money.

Broom her.

I'd rather someone said they had a duplicate item rather than me having spent money that's completely wasted.

Oh, she wanted Piers Morgan's new book. What a shame.

I mean she's trying to get your money back at least so that's kind no?

Daft Punk have split up/retired.

EDIT: Easily one of my favourite artists. Was lucky enough to see their Alive 2007 show at Rock Ness that year. Possibly the best live show I've ever seen, and I saw Michael Jackson on his "Dangerous" tour in 92.

Loved every album they released and I'd always held out hope that they would do another live tour at some point. Ah well, guess I can just enjoy what I have.

I ask people to give me a list of stuff they want and I'll buy something off the list.

Damn, that's really disappointing. Didn't realise it's been 8 years since RAM came out, which is insane, and 8 years before that for HAA.
