Did you know in the video for no surprises, he was able to hold his breath for more than long enough to film it, but once the cameras were rolling he just couldn't do it! It took so many takes, but the smile on his face when the water drains out is from genuine relief!

I also caught their secret set at Glasto one year in the park fields, and Tom did an acoustic version of creep. It was one of the greatest moments of my life.

I used to share a small office with a bunch of guys who were obsessed with Radiohead, and I'd hear this gooseberry fool most of the day. Theyd put their albums on aaaaaallll day, causing them to go from a band I didn't mind to one I couldn't stand.

I too once knew a couple of Radiohead fans, and they were among the most awful people you can imagine, not only that, but every time they forced me to listen to the music, i thought it was absolute shite.

Why don't you go and listen to Coldplay, loser.

No one liked Coldplay.

It was more the Radiohead kids fighting the Muse kids over who were the true musical geniuses.

And that one weird lad who insisted on listening to The Polyphonic Spree on purpose. :dread:

I got protection from the Tool gang whilst secretly listening to Avril Lavigne. :toot:

man
coldplay had been around for like 20 years by the time i was in highschool

my music experience in sixth form was mostly the middle class white people around me not understanding the hip hop I listened to
I think most people listened to various forms of indie rock

The worst banana splits at school were the banana splits who sang Bohemian Rhapsody in the hallway together as if they strawberry floating invented the damn song and were the only ones who knew it existed.

God I hated school.

Muse would have been great if Matt Bellamy could learn how to breathe properly. :dread:

I haven't really listened to any of their stuff for a long time but they really seemed to go off the boil about 10-15 years ago, the first few albums had some great tracks on though

Coldplay get a lot of gooseberry fool, but Parachutes is one of my favourite albums. I think the only tracks I don't really like are yellow and trouble, the rest are great. Love spies, shiver, high speed.

Muse just seemed to go all in on being derivative of classic rock/alt rock bands that came before them, which is a bit of a shame.

I don't find myself listening to many muse albums, and the last few have been utter shite (for my tastes anyway), but they're hands down the best live band I've ever seen. I think I've seen them 4 times now, and each one has just been incredible.

I used to be really into Muse around the Origin / Absolution / Black Holes era, and got invited to go to a gig of theirs two years ago. I hadn't really listened to much of their stuff since then, but the gig was a fantastic experience. I'd be well up for seeing them again.

Yeah I listened to a lot of Parachutes when it was first out, it was a really solid album. It's just that they really leaned into the wrong parts of their sound after that. :dread:

The 3rd record is where it all went to bollocks, I think. The producer is a clown.

I really liked X&Y, may more the AROBTTH which I barely listened to.

X&Y was the last one I properly listened to, after that it's just been hearing bits of them on the radio and thinking "nope, still not interested"

Same. Shame what happened to them.

Coldplay definitely don't deserve all the hate they get, but I'm not a fan of their more recent stuff. I bought their first two albums, but wasn't interested in any of their stuff after that. Far worse and less talented bands out there though.

Time is Running Out was a banger.

I couldn’t stand Bellamy’s voice on most of their stuff though.

I can't stand the stuff after X&Y, I call it supermarket garage music, where it's the sort of thing that sits on the counter and gets picked up on impulse along with some chewing gum, and sits in the car CD player as background music for the rest of time.
