School might have been bad but deep down you know you had the Time of your Life. Don't let the bullies Sabotage your future.

Does Jesus of Suburbia count, given it's a few small songs stuck together?

The best Green Day song is definitely not on American Idiot :shifty:

American Idiot is a great album and anyone saying otherwise can strawberry float off. I didn't even like it when I was a teenager so that's how I know it's genuinely good.

Apparently I'm strawberry floating off. I hate Green Day's droning tones.

My mother died last Wednesday night, just 50 years old. Without consulting anyone other than my OAP grandmother who just last year figured out 'the internet' (read: she can now access Facebook), some old school friend of my mother set up a GoFundMe not more than 72 hours after she'd died, to 'help pay for funeral expenses, etc'.

Some people, strawberry float me. Nothing said to me our my younger brother, nothing said to my mother's partner - just straight begging for charity on our behalf. We only found out because my brother was scrolling through Facebook and suddenly sees a close up picture of my now-dead mother's face she'd kindly included in her Facebook post.

Why do some people love muscling in on other people's grief?

I think Origin of Symmetry, Absoluttion and Black Holes all have some cracking tracks on them, in fact even Showbiz is pretty good too.

I don't particularly like Black Holes and Revelations in all honesty, aside from Knights of Cydonia most of the songs on it aren't that good.

I like most Muse albums though, it's probably only Black Holes, The 2nd Law and Simulation Theory that I consider to be weak albums.

As for Matts annoying deep breaths between lines, I can totally understand why it puts people off but once you get used to it you kind of automatically ignore it.

Really sorry for your loss mate. I know how difficult losing a parent is, my sincere condolences.

Also, absolutely disgusting behavior by that person. Have you spoken to them about it?

Yeah really sorry to hear that Igor, hope you're doing okay.

That situation sounds bad with the GoFundMe but maybe they really were just trying to do something nice even if they did go about it in a misguided way?

I'm sorry to hear this :(

As for the people, I just don't understand either. It seems people have to be the face of something now and get credit for something (see the nhs clap, captain Tom copy cats etc). It's stress you don't need right now so hopefully saying something will get them to shut it down and back off.

Thanks guys, it took a few days to sink in but I'm doing okay now. She's been ill for months so it's not unexpected. The hospital let us in to see her, my brother and her partner made it in just a few minutes before she went, I saw her after she'd gone. It breaks your brain for a little while, seeing someone that could well just be asleep and yet you know there's nothing/no one there anymore.

Yeah, we've spoken to her and I know it was well-intentioned, it just seemed like an immature and childish thought to have. The sort of idea that someone who's insistent on buying you a drink even when you don't want one would have. Less about what the action does for the person they're 'helping' and more about how the action makes the 'helper' feel.

Yeah I totally get what you are saying there, however well intentioned it may (or may not!) have been it's a very selfish move on their behalf.

That's awful, I'm so sorry mate.

I genuinely find it unbelievable that somebody would set up a GoFundMe without even mentioning it. strawberry float me, some people :fp:
