That cable is only £5. The extra £84.99 is for the security fit to help prevent it detaching accidentally.

Thanks! So is there any benefit to replacing my existing hdmi cable I use for my Blu-ray player? The vast majority of my TV usage will be Netflix straight from the tv app, but I will watch the occasional Blu-ray.

I mean for £7 I may as well have a cable that gives me the best picture quality when watching a Blu-ray.

I'm waiting until the next gen consoles before I get a new TV so by that time OLED 4K 50+ inch should be reasonably priced for a good set.

I'm currently using 3 HDMI cables (one that came free with Sky HD, one that came free with a PS3, and a £30 Sony one that's got a flat cable). There's no discernible difference in the picture quality between any of them, apart from the expensive Sony one physically looking nicer...I admired it for all of 10 seconds.

Oh, sorry, I'm getting mixed up. I thought that if I bought an hdmi 2.0 cable it would provide a better picture than my current hdmi cable which came with my Blu-ray player.

Two disappointments so far: I don't think there's a socket for my speakers, as the tv must be too new for such old rubbish; and I forgot to ask for the 3 months free of Now TV when you buy an LG tele.

I'm presuming your Blu Ray player doesn't have 4K upscaling, so no it'll make no difference. The TV will do all the work improving the picture.

If you're watching 4K through Roku 4 or Amazon's new box neither support anything higher than HDMI 1.4 anyway.

Thanks. I only intend to watch 4K through Netflix when I eventually upgrade my subscription. That could be many months away yet, and I'll watch that straight from the tv app anyway.

It was a toss-up between HD and 4K as I was buying a new TV today regardless.

It's just got an audio in port. A green cable same at both ends. I think they're just old PC speakers that I've been using for better sound with ma tele.

I rarely use the subwoofer anyway so I'll just make do with the tv speakers for now. I've bought it for the picture not the sound.

The spec sheet that Currys supply it mentions no outputs, only input sockets, so no you won't be able to connect you speakers.

You could take the back off and connect them to the contact points where the internal TV speakers connect, but reading the topic I don't think that will be something you will be willing to do.

It's no big deal, I might buy one of those sound bars at some point.

I've got me Netflix 4K set up and I'm happy to say it's a big improvement. I tried it out on Marco Polo as I thought the costumes and battle scenes would be a good visual test.

All in all I think I got a good deal considering the sale of my tv today brought the cost down to £375. I wanted a Smart tele so I could get straight into Netflix without using the slow as shite Wii U, I wanted a bigger screen - was 46 now 49 - and I wanted an improved picture.
