When I got my PS4, just a few months ago, I went ahead and bought Tetris Effect, even though I knew it was coming to Game Pass. I just couldn’t wait any longer. And I don’t regret it for a second.

When you play this, does it activate HDR on your TV? You know, that wee icon in the corner? It's meant to be HDR enabled but I don't think it's activating on my set.

Sounds great. Hopefully some of you guys will be up for some co op Tetris(?).

I have it on PS4, and have only played it using PSVR, which is pretty great, but this sounds like a good reason to revisit it on Xbox.

Just checked. The icon pops up when the photosensitivity warning screen appears. And woah, there’s no mistaking that it’s HDR.

There is an HDR setting (Options > Visuals > HDR on/off), so maybe yours defaulted to off when you originally played it on a non-HDR TV?
EDIT: For some reason it takes a good 10-15 seconds for the game to switch the HDR on/off when you change the setting, leaving you on a blank screen and panicking that something has gone terribly wrong!

Contrast and OLED were both set to 100 X_x

Console performances:

Series X: 4K / 60fps
Series S: 1440p / 60fps
Xbox One X: 1080p / 60fps (fps not locked — can dip in multiplayer, for example)
Xbox One S: 1080p / 30fps (fps not locked — can dip in multiplayer, for example)

Just installed this on PC. Game pass :wub:

Anyone up for some co op at some point? I saw some footage on Giant Bomb and it looked like a great experience.

I don't really get this. It's Tetris (which is fine) with a face-melting laser show behind it. The visuals are absolutely impressive, but add nothing at all to the game, in fact they often are way too distracting. It's just odd.

It's a audio visual feast, innit. It doesn't add anything to the gameplay, no. But it's cool af to look at.

I actually found the music way more distracting. I mean, I love the music, but as with every other game, I find that if I switch it off I am able to play better / panic less on the harder stages.

It's easily the best version of this kind of music puzzler I've played, out of Lumines, Meteos, Every Extend Extra etc.

I dislike every one of those games, so maybe that's the problem. I do like vanilla Tetris though.

For me, bought on release to play on PSVR. After getting shut of PSVR it really wasn’t the same when I tried to play more of it. Got it downloaded on the Xbox but I’m sure it will just make me want to get another VR headset

I have it on PSVR as well, but I have already played it more on Series X. Both are great, but it’s nice to be able to play it at a moments notice with minimal effort and faff.
It seems to be impossible to find an online multiplayer game in any mode mind.

I have just downloaded and played this (Game Pass, Xbox One X) I love Tetris and Tetris Ultimate is normally the game I play when I don’t know what to play, I have only done the first few stages of Tetris Effect and I’m pretty sure that’s how people must feel when they are on drugs, some of the effects along with the music were pretty out there
