I'm loving the fact I can play one of best Tetris games on Xbox  Annoyed at my Xbox one awful dpad though, ended up hard dropping more than one piece by accident :(

I should change settings so the blocks are given their own colour for easier difference spotting but then again. pretty graphics.

There's an option in the control settings to turn off diagonal inputs, that might help.

I think the Series X d pad has had the clickyness engineered in to boost the sensory experience.

Oh I mean I'm using dpad rather than stick for playing Tetris Effect, I don't think I can play Tetris with stick :dread:

But yeah I'm thinking of getting Xbox series pad for better road (alongside USB C & easy share button)

I'm playing it with a mouse and a single button for rotating (click) and fast drop (hold), I'm in utter shock that I've managed to finish the singleplayer 'campaign' .

Anyone getting any online games... at all? I have had one in about 20 minutes of waiting over the past 3 days.

Think I might uninstall this from Epic Games Launcher and install the Gamepass version as the new Connected content doesn't seem to be included for existing owners of the game.

Online was working great just now. I was on my 1X though. Hopefully they have not split the player base by mistake....

Eurogamer - Recommended

Tetris Effect: Connected review - pure multiplayer joy

It's almost unfair, really, to take a game that was already so fearsome and sort of find a bunch of ways to make it even more interesting and dynamic and maddening and beautiful. Whenever I think of Tetris Effect - and Tetris Effect: Connected, which again, I should reiterate, contains the original game as well as the multiplayer stuff - I think of Laniakea, which serves as a map to the campaign screen and is also the supercluster that is home to the Milky Way, the Great Attractor, and so many other billions of glittering wonders and fancies. Load up Tetris Effect and it always shows you where we live. And in playing it, it continues to show us a little something about who we are.

Play it in VR, it goes beyond just being Tetris.

I'm sure it's a cool experience and all, but you're still trying to fit little blocks into little spaces to make the rows disappear. Not sure that qualifies as telling me about the origins of the universe.

Dude, that's all the universe is. An infinite number of little blocks slotted into little spaces. It's transcendental.

Played a bit more of this. It's good for in between missions of Gears Tactics, which is quite brown. Still Tetris though.

Is this an achievement?

Main game done on Expert, did it on Easy then Normal before doing Expert to have feeling of game on Xbox pad. Still fun (I've done it before on PS4)

My ranks are bad, though. Did get s once or twice but I'll have to go back and try for better scores on Normal eventually.
