Not true, falsey, but a nice try. Here, have a cookie. No post-capture tarting up in Photoshop was done at all, except for the second-to-last image which needed a simple level adjustment to bring out a little more of the image from the dark. Other than that, the only other adjustments to all pics was to take them down in size by 65%.
The shots themselves were taken in-game (obviously) with a 'noclip' camera, which meant I could go for any angle I wanted, from wherever I wanted within each map. 'Monsters' were switched off and the camera given a 'noTarget' attribute. I also turned off all 'bobbing' on the camera, which just gives movement a very smooth glide around the sets (and also, in conjunction with altering movement speed parameters, helps in the making of very cinematic movies - especially now that Doom3 has native 360 controller support -yay).
So, moan all you like. Are you honestly saying those are not great set designs, regardless of graphic considerations? Be objective. Amazing to me just how outstanding they look even today. I still haven't seen them bettered.
