I'll get in on this again. Despite already being over my budget for this year, it really has helped me cut back on spending and I'm gonna need that with the year I've got in 2011!

I'll raise the budget a little though due to the 3DS so mine will be £900.

FIFA 11 should be no more than this, so hopefully I'll finish with some to spare.

Hi i'm usually more of a lurker on these forums rather than a contributor, thought i would get a little more involved and would be nice to track what i spend over the year!

I don't personally think i will spend more than £200, i tend to buy most games once they have gone down a bit and i sell or trade most games in!

Good point. Maybe I should aim to sell on or trade games in too, especially as I won't really have much spare cash next year. I'll always try and find the best price but tbh I wish I'd bought more games on release this year so will be next (just one at a time though).

I was going to increase my budget to allow for a 3DS but my current total might force me to trade/sell, we'll see.

Why isn't there a santa hat emoticon? What a disgrace.

That's what I do now. Two years ago my gameing budget was £1,000. Last year was £500 and this year its £400.

When you sale games on this you can add money back onto your budget. I'll put you down for £200

Ill say a budget of £250. I should save more money by getting PC games for multiplatform seeing as theyre usually cheaper.

I'm planning NOT to trade in any of my games or sell them. I just find myself buying the game again anyway because I tend to re-play tons of older games in future alongside newer ones. May as well keep all games I have right now to save money, unless of course, I ended up not liking the game anyway or didn't think it's worth full price I'll trade it in and not bother with it again (or buy it when it's dirt cheap, like FF13 which I do like - just not worth £30+)

I didn't get on with it that well on first six chapters, so I traded it in for high valve. Then got it again at £8.95, it gave me reason to keep the game as well play it properly :P

I keep a lot of game I enjoy.

In all honesty the best way to do this is buy a game on release, finish it then sell it straight way and buy it again when it drops which it will unless it's a mario game

I certainly won't be trading or selling every new game, just some. If I really really like a game then I'll keep it; the ones with a major MP aspect especially. I guess it will depend on the game and how much I like it, and whether or not I can see myself replaying it.

The replaying of games will be a very secondary concern though, next year. I'm desperate for new games and to play through them on release (as much as possible anyway), in order to be part of the buzz surrounding them. And then to move on to the next new game. This year I seem to have kept hold of some fairly early releases in the year, shelved them and, because of lack of time, repeatedly just played MP games or XBLA titles. I hardly bought anything else. As such I've been starved of newness - I need newness!
