I find it is fine for a soft drink, but for a milkshake you need at least 3.

For quite a few McDonald’s is a social thing not just food so they will hang out chatting and gooseberry fool rather than going, eating and leaving like us oldies would.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I find that if I take too long to drink, the straw goes a bit soft and the hole in the lid tends to pinch it, making it harder to use. Not a massive inconvenience, though. I use bamboo straws if I'm eating at home, if not I just split the lid so it doesn't pinch the straw- problem solved.

As Errkal said though, they are a bit gooseberry fool for milkshakes.

Let's face it, if anyone is going to have the inside scoop on whether these straws are suitable for a milkshake it's going to be Chocolate-Milk!

I've found them fine for stuff like Coke but haven't had a milkshake in McD's for years so haven't seen what happens with those yet.

It’s been over a decade since I had a McDonald’s milkshake, but from memory I don’t think it matters if you have a plastic or paper straw. You need a spoon.

Yeah I think I'm probably looking at a decade since my last one as well, they were certainly very thick from what I recall.

I remember there used to be some rumour that they used loads of pig fat in the milkshakes which was why they were so thick or something similar!

Did you know that KFC were forced to change their name from Kentucky Fried Chicken? It’s because the genetically modified chickens that they use have 8 legs each and so are no longer technically chickens.

Perfectly natural - that's just what happens to chickens when you stuff them full of a secret blend of 11 herbs and spices!

Not sure there is an "official" definition for when the millennial generation begins - I think most stats use anyone born from the early 80s until the mid/late 90s.

I think most here do fit that range but there's probably a few either side as well.

No.

There are a few definitions but millennials are those born from the early 80s to late 90s. Most places seem to use birth years between 1981-1996.

I was born in 1980 so I am too old to be a millennial. Karl was born in 2007 and so is too young to be a millennial.

Jawa was born in 8000BC and so he is a Flintstonnnial.

ahh I didn't know we had such a spread, I thought we were mostly early 80s to 90s.

Karl is 12? strawberry floating hell I thought he was 70. Sorry Karl!

For quite a few McDonald’s is a social thing not just food so they will hang out chatting and gooseberry fool rather than going, eating and leaving like us oldies would.

Me and my mates often go at 1am on Saturdays after Wetherspoons closes. It's all part of the night out.

I think that's the problem with "generational" definitions - they always seem to be quite loose. Why someone can't just nail these things down I'll never know!

You can’t nail it down because they are meaningless nonsense.

Somebody born on 31 December 1980 is not a millennial, but somebody born on 1 January 1981 is. And so they must be the exact same generation as somebody else that was born on 31 December 1996?

Indeed. Basically we need to stop using rubbish woolly terms like these generations "Millennial", "Baby Boomer", "Generation X" etc. and just use date ranges for statistical reporting.

Yeah as I was bored in 88 I fit the millennial bracket.

And I can confirm that as I don’t like avocado on toast or coffee I was able to buy a house.
