The Sun’s narrative already is to put blame onto the CPS, while also removing a few of their own more critical or salacious stories.

I’ve always found this whole ‘oh weren’t they wonderful after death’ routine nauseating. In the space of a few hours she has gone from a potential crazed domestic abuser to Jade Goody.

A tragic set of circumstances but the issue definitely isn’t with the CPS. Love Island needs to be scrapped (death total on those related to that show now stands at 3), and the trial by social media and in turn the tabloids obviously sent an extremely troubled person over the edge.

Plus everyone was making jokes at her expense. I turned onto the TV awards the other week and David Walliams made some joke about her and a bedside lamp.

The level of sheer idiocy of people on the socials. Angry about social media killing Caroline Flack then proceed to bombard David Walliams, Philip Schofield and Ant McPartlin with abuse. So the exact same thing they're supposedly angry about in the first place they are now doing themselves to other people with seemingly no self awareness whatsoever.

Personally I can’t see why people can’t just turn it off if they’re incapable of ignoring it rather than wallowing in the circle jerk of abuse, but clearly that’s impossible. It won’t amount to anything, but if Ofcom were to come down hard on social media firms would anyone really care? It’s the world’s most narcissistic misery maker.

This isn’t anything to do with Love Island though? I’m not defending the show but this is a completely different set of circumstances to the other 2 deaths.

I feel like if this were a male celebrity who had tried to murder his girlfriend in her sleep he wouldn't be getting the same kind of well wishes after his death.

The two main excuses I've seen on Facebook:

1. We've all done the same and worse

2. Her boyfriend is bigger than her

Things don’t always have to be 100% black or white.

Nobody knows what happened during the assault or the reasons behind it.

But it is perfectly possible to condemn domestic violence while also condemning the gutter press that gleefully destroys lives. It’s possible to feel sympathy for a mentally ill person while also being disgusted by any crimes they may have committed.

What’s weird is seeing a story like this and jumping straight to a “well if it had been a man...” narrative.

I just know for a fact if my ex's abusive ex killed himself I would be over the moon because the Psychological trauma he inflicted on her has ruined her life and damaged mine.

I have no sympathy for people who use their mental health as an excuse for violent or controling behaviour.

She wacked her boyfriend over the head with a lamp while he was sleeping, and one of her exes was paid to keep quiet. I wouldn't really say I'm jumping the gun.

The fact the CPS wanted to pursue the case even when her boyfriend didn't means they must have had some pretty substantial evidence.

Yeah but none of that was in your post.

The bedroom looked like a massacre, but the photo(s) should never have been leaked/released to the press to begin with. Straight out of the News of the World playbook to have that splashed on the front page.

The blood seen in the photo was also mainly hers.

She cut herself on glass didn't she?

Don't get me wrong, what she did was wrong and undoubtedly she deserved to be punished, but she didn't deserve trial by media and hounding to the point of suicide(if that is what's happened).

It's weird how Flack's death is being more blamed by some on 'cancel culture' and the ills of social media in general instead of, you know, an industry of parasitic tabloid journalism.

It's funny to see all of the people in this thread give Caroline this benefit yet when the whole Pro Jared thing was going down people didn't have the same opinion. I wonder why.

So you’re mad that people didn’t give a man the benefit of the doubt, while simultaneously posting bile about a woman who has just killed herself?

Yeah, I wonder why...
