How are people so attached to Jeopardy? Was it even shown over here? The only exposure I think I had to that show was the "what is a quince" bit from White Men Can't Jump!

I think it's on Netflix but I've no idea why people seem attached to it.

So theres this thing called the internet...

Its probably the most iconic gameshow in the world, and he's hosted it the whole time. Its simply pop culture.

The most recent Wheel of Fortune game came in a double pack with Jeopardy so I've been playing a fair amount of it recently :shifty: It's good fun, as long as you don't get a round that's like obscure American knowledge.

Admittedly I'd never watched it before it came to Netflix, but it's been a part of the cultural zeitgeist for decades. Plenty of films, TV shows and cartoons have referenced it over the years, to the point that I knew the whole concept of the show and who Alex Trebek was despite never having seen an episode.

Hell, Weird Al even had a song about it!

Most iconic in America maybe, but the world? Has it ever really taken off anywhere else?

I'd say something like Who Wants to be a Millionaire is more iconic on a global scale.

The gimmick of how questions are asked and answered is just awful. Goodness knows how it's remained popular for so long.

Yeah I think a lot of us know what it is thanks to movies and TV. But hardly any of us have ever watched it.

Millionaire hasn't had the same host and hasn't run for 56 years.

I believe American Jeopardy is the most watched gameshow in the world.

Jeopardy! (N64, US Import only): 9% Less a game, more a vile disease. So ugly that, if you look at it, you'll turn to stone.

^ The main reason I know what Jeopardy is. :shifty:

Have seen Jeopardy referenced loads of times in pop culture, watched it when I lived in Canada, Alex Trebek is pretty famous, have seen it and videos about it on YouTube, watched it on Netflix, have the quiz app, a friend was just recently going through the application process...
