Damn, had no idea he was ill. He was so young too, that's awful :(

Well that's gooseberry fool. I've always found him really funny, then we went to see him live once and he wasn't very funny at all, then on tv all the times after he was really funny to me again. Maybe live just wasn't his thing.

Time for a challenging wank in his honour.

I think the first time I came across him was watching 15 Storeys High which was fantastic and one of those shows that I can't believe more people don't know about

I haven't watched 8 out of 10 Cats in about a year, but last time I tuned in I'd noticed his voice had changed dramatically.

Channel 4 does a lot of programming for cancer charities. Hopefully more advancements in defeating it can be made as it takes too many too early.

That's the saddest I have felt about a celebrity dying in a long ass time.

Was only watching him make his legendary cocktail on 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown just last night.

RIP mate, you were one funny bastard.

I always watch 8 out of 10 cats does countdown to cheer myself up on bad days. He never fails to make me laugh, from the supreme winner of carrot in a box to being just generally funny in general. Made me laugh in other stuff he was in, even if briefly (like being Brian's ex wife in Ideal), to me he was always a delight to watch.

RIP.

That sucks massively. I had suspected he was ill as he was looking quite thin recently but this is still so shocking. An amazingly underrated comedian.

Gutted at this news, he was the first comedian I ever saw live. Such a naturally funny human, RIP :(

Gutted about Sean Lock, he was one of my favourite comedians. I once had tickets to see him but I had to cancel last minute and gave the tickets to my parents.

RIP. :(

He'd been having problems with his voice off and on over the last 2 years or so, along with getting skinnier, but his voice seemed to be getting back to normal I thought in the more recent episodes he'd filmed.
