Peter Straub died a few days ago, probably best known for co-writing The Talisman and Black House with Stephen King. His book Ghost Story is supposed to be fantastic.

I don't know anything about him, but the Talisman and Black House are fantastic books.

GR's favourite band agrees with me.

King was asked a few months back if he was going to do a third book with Peter Straub and said he'd liked to but Straub was very ill.

Not a celebrity but I just found out Shamus Young died in June. I've had his blog bookmarked since he created procedural city screensaver and loved all of his programming articles, but others here might have read his game reviews.
