Marvel’s Avengers | PS/XB/PC/Stadia | Spider-Man reveal trailer PG.26

Finished the story last night, it was neat overall but I have literally no desire to play any of the post story stuff. Fighting the same villains over and over was just boring by the end, I wonder if Marvel put a limit on what Crystal Dynamics could include in this or if they just thought AIM was all they needed?

You can see the glimpses of potential here but after trying it myself I do think they direction they ended up going with this projected had a negative effect and it’s a damn shame.

What about the Hawkeye story stuff? Was that any good/different?

I’ve said it before, but for me personally, the post-game was great for 90 minute bursts - bash a few robots in, get loot, repeat. It’ll be a year come September it’ll have been out, they need to mix up the enemy variety but they’ve hamstrung themselves through the games plot. If the ongoing story advances like I think it might, they’ll solve that problem, to a degree.

My issue with the loot is the fact that it has no cosmetic effect, it’s just to make a number go up.

I've only really dipped in occasionally after completing the single player base content but is there grinding required to get to a level to tackle the newer single player content (Hawkeye etc) or can you do it straight from the story?

Straight from the story, you’ll manage ok.

The free Black Panther: War for Wakanda expansion is looking to be pretty neat. I've been tempted a few times to try out the game but haven't dived in.

I think the Spider-Man DLC is what will get a lot of people (well PlayStation people) interested again. If they announced a big bit of free DLC with the X-Men in as part of huge event like Apocalypse, Onslaught or Galactus then I think it would generate enough hype to pull in new players.

Got Wakanda downloaded; so, will prob start it later tonight. See the reviews have been positive! The main downside is it's rather short (3hrs-ish).

So, I've just unlocked Black Widow and taken a prisoner, and the objective screen is now listing missions for both Captain America and Thor, but neither of them are back on the team yet? :slol:

Will they turn up during the main Reassemble branch, or are those missions like... totally separate little spin-off adventures? I mean, at the moment Cap is meant to be dead, so...

The longer level ups were put in a while ago (they claimed it was to stop people being overwhelmed by too many skills too quickly :roll:

), but yeah they've now added pay to win microtransactions recently as well.

It was a bit knackered in that you could get to level 50 really quickly, but now it’s gone too much the other way.

Another hour or so through the story and now they actually mention the missions I've been able to track but not see :lol:

How does something like that not get picked up?

I’ve been dipping into this on Game Pass on my X for the last couple of weeks or so in between other stuff and on the whole it’s been better than I expected. I’m not into the MCU really so not fussed with story or the DLC but as a brawler, especially as Hulk, it’s fun.

Certainly looks half decent with all the explosions and stuff on screen.

Can’t say I know what to do with all the gear I collect and just allow LT auto upgrades to happen, as well as cashing in older lower level gear. No idea what the components are for really.

I think I’m getting close to the end as just had a big fight on the Heli thing and saved it crashing into Manhattan where Thor makes his entrance? Hulk and Stark just had a fight too?

My 11yr old would love it. If only he had a Series console rather than the old XB1!

Good to hear that you're enjoying it, KingK. Just a thought - I believe the game does run on the Xbox One so your kid should be able to give it a go?
