I cooked rump steak on the outdoor microwave on Friday evening. I was initially sceptical it would be any good, but I followed these instructions to the letter and the results were amazing. It was strawberry floating delicious and perfectly cooked.
For medium rare:
Keep the lid down and turn all the burners to max.
Get the internal temperature up to about 280 C
Put the steak on and immediately shut the lid again. Leave for 3 minutes.
Turn over, shut lid and leave for 3 minutes.
Turn burners off, turn steaks over, shut lid and leave to rest for 4 minutes.
