Unlock all the characters, beat the game (not just Mom but beyond) with all the characters, beat all the challenges, find all 450ish items and find all 200ish secrets. Then you can say you beat it. Hundreds of hours await. Have fun!

Had another amazing run earlier, this time with Cain. Became Guppy fairly early on so beating Satan was pretty much a foregone conclusion. Just finished a bitch of a run with Lazarus...figured I was going to die in the Caves, but managed to hold out until Womb 2 where I couldn't quite work my way through to Mom's Heart. Did find an amazing item though, Krampus' Head.

So much fun.

Nearly beat Womb 2 with Azazael but lost =( I was lucky with the loot (It made Azazel be able to shoot out beam that goes all way from one side to another, wipes out enemies very very quickly) Shame it didn't carry the luck to boss fight. Hoohum.

Fellow Isaac noobs: remember to jot down the seed on the pause screen. That way if you find a game which had good stuffs you can go back to it. You start from beginning but everything else will be the same. I think.

Got Ending 6 earlier, can't wait to find that particular item. Been playing mainly the challenges today though, some of them are horrible. Head Trauma I found disgustingly difficult and I can't see myself beating that any time soon.

All good fun though it's slightly worrying how addictive it is despite me playing the original to death. They've definitely captured the spirit of it's predecessor.

Still haven't beaten it again, I seriously suck at this.

Think I've unlocked every character bar two which I need to do something special to get. Probably won't be for long time, though.

Only played this once so far and I havnt got a clue what's going on. Seems like is got that spelunky one more go factor though

Dark Bum Friend...surely the most overpowered item in the game and bound to be nerfed in an update. :O

I got a combo going on Azazel which oneshots all the bosses, if you want to try boss rush mode here's the seed: YLV41MLG

I beat Satan for the first time on this run yet still haven't done the 2 levels without taking damage necessary to unlock Samson

Just did the first 3 challenges. Sykes was right, Head Trauma is a bit awkward, but if you just make your way to the boss room as best you can on each floor you should be fine. I got Krampus's Head again which certainly helped. If you stand in the middle of the screen during the Mom fight and time it right, it makes mincemeat out of her.

Oh yeah... I was getting a load more pill drops in that run. Should have been able to figure that one out for myself

i've not fired this up so have no idea what you lot are going on about but it reads / sounds mental. Trouble is, as Death's Head said in the PS4 thread, limited gaming time means that its the bigger titles that get my focus (CoD at the moment, Halo MCC next week, GTAV PS4 the following week) so god knows when this will get a look in.

Oh, and I'm 36 hrs into Rainbow Moon which is something I do want to complete on the Vita.

Is Issac best played on console or Vita?

Either. Only difference I have seen between the PS4 and Vita versions is a slightly slower load time when starting. And I do mean *slightly* slower.

Usually I pick one format over the other when it comes to cross-buy but in this case I am playing on both; PS4 during the day and Vita at night.

Something I just realised regarding the map (on the Vita version, anyway): When you enlarge it, not only can you move it around the screen with the touchscreen but you can also use the 2-finger gesture to zoom in and out of it.

This is probably common knowledge but no harm in stating the obvious.

Enlarged map is very handy, but I wish the mini map itself was slightly larger.
