Having played Advanced Heroquest recently and seeing how well it still holds up, the original Heroquest is unfortunately a pretty antiquated gaming experience by comparison. It has some nostalgic qualities but I don't think I could actually play it again.

It was a great boardgame in the late 80s/early 90s to get people into the world of Warhammer though. It lead to WH40K, WFB, Space Hulk, etc for me.

If you like hero quest, give 'Descent journeys in the dark' a look. Its really good.

UKGE this weekend was great!

Spent two days there, staying in Hilton overnight. So got to try lots of stuff and play loads of games with chum.

Wrecked my back in the morning (slipped down stairs in childish excitement on Friday morning heading off to event) so limped about 5 minutes and then needed to sit down. Might have coloured my impression but I thought while the event was packed lively, everything seemed a little more...subdued?. There didn't seem to be many publishers pushing a big new IP/game, and display areas where more mixed/varied that trying to buzz a new game. Seeing Xwing/Legion pushed off to the side upstairs was odd.

That sounds negative, but was really nice. Think over 2 days played about 14 games with friends (some we bought to play, mostly trying out new stuff) and it was great to be surrounded by nerds.

Could easily have blown a fortune but was determined to be sensible so only bought Akropolis and Scout (plus 2 other of their box series for a deal price)

Also foodstreet - Oh got the Greek Wrap places was AMAZING

I went on the Sunday but felt like I could've got a lot more out of it. Having never been to any kind of expo before I didn't really know what to expect. I did enjoy it and we played a few games but I'm hoping I can go again next year and really make the most of the experience.

Walked past one of the ShutUpandSitDown team in the hall and had to stop myself from gawking like some kind of screaming fan.

I find it best to ignore all the shops - you're never going to find "THE BEST DEAL" hidden at one. They're all too similar in price/stock to scower every one.

We take it as an attempt to try and play as many games possible. We'll go with a list to look for/want to try, but often just go one the day by what looks good, what we've heard of, what's free and Ben needs to sit down before his back makes him cry. etc

Picked up Star Wars : The Deckbuilding Game the other week. It's a fun 2 player deck builder. Owes a lot to Star Realms, but adds a few twists. I made a life tracker app for the Playdate a while ago, and it works great for games like this!

I also late-pledged a Kickstarter game called Tidal Blades - Rise of the Unfolders. Looking like it's shipping in October.

Bit of a rogue request but I don't suppose anyone has a copy of the game "Alice is Missing" they might be looking to sell on?

I've been trying to track down a copy in the UK for ages but it's sold out everywhere and from what I hear it's the type of game you can only really play once so I figured I'd ask if anyone has played it and looking to sell their copy :slol:

Played some Pakal with the wife tonight.

Close games but I won out in the deciding puzzle both times.

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

Been a long wait, due to it being hand made, but my copy of Turncoats is being dispatched this week. Looking forward to it.
