My wife and I have played a different board game together every day this week. I've loved it

Got back into Arkham Horror LCG again with the quarantine and remembered I had an expiring 10% code for Zatu so bought the majority of the new campaign. Just started a two handed Circle Undone campaign with Zoe and Preston though which I want to finish first.

Anyone else involved in a Gloomhaven campaign? I've had it for ages and only ever did about five levels previously as I was playing it solo and I could never bring myself to set it all up. Since being furloughed though i've been playing it non stop and doing a couple of scenarios a day. I've done about fifteen scenarios now and am loving it! All of the helpers they've got for the admin side of things is a game changer and speeds up the set up/put down by 20 minutes or so which makes it much more enjoyable.

Had a cracking game of Brass Birmingham this afternoon. I had the lead at the end of the canal era but began to worry as I watched my wife explode rail networks all over the board.

I played it cool though and by the end of the rail era I had a pretty big monopoly over the west which netted me big points for a comfortable win.

Felt very different to our first game as we were both being careful to only use up coal and iron when we had our own supplies available, which meant I rarely ever had a chance to sell resources to the market.

Did our first virtual board game night last night on Skype as not everyone in my group has a computer capable of running Tabletop Simulator somehow.

We played Just One, Wavelength, Insider, Jackbox and Resistance. I don't want to be the person with all the games next week though, that's a lot of admin...

Anyone played Ticket to Ride online? Does it have cross compatibility across the various versions?

I believe it does, yes. It works very well according to my wife.

Been playing a fair amount of games on Tabletopia recently which has proven really good once you get used to the at times fiddly controls!

Played a number of games we already knew like Marrakech, Nefarious, Everdell, Wingspan, but also tried some good new ones like Go Nuts For Doughnuts & Gladius.

Would certainly recommend for anyone looking to play online board games with friend & family. Been meaning to try Board Game Arena as well which some of my friends use and has a different selection of games, but haven't had a chance yet.

The VIcious Godess is FINALLY complete. Only 20 hours and some mild cheating later...

I still really like the mechanics of this but the punishing difficulty is horrid. I think it's meant ot be played again and again with benefit of knowledge/experience to maike right calls but it's really relly hard. Was hoping for more of an adventure than a repeat play puzzle.

I think we're planning on doing another one.

Could anyone recommend me a new game for me and my partner to play? Simplicity of concept (but still deep) is her preferred type, versus not co-op, must be under 30 mins game time. Current fave is Carcassonne, wasn't a fan of 7 Wonders Dual before anyone says that.

30 minutes is a tight constraint but the below are all short and absolutely excellent.

Thanks man, I'll go investigate. We just don't have the time after kids have gone to bed to play anything more substantial, plenty of longer games are now gathering dust.

EDIT - Arboretum looks exactly like her kind of game. That'll do nicely. Really appreciate it.

I reckon you can't go wrong with any of those. I'd say take a look at Patchwork first as I think that'll fit your requirements best. All three are fairly inexpensive too.
