My Mrs loves Welcome To as a simple, quick and easy to learn game. It’s tough to get her to play any games with me, but that’s one that she actually asks to play.

Thanks. Always looking for new games to play, will add to the list to investigate. :)

Kingdomino sounds perfect for what you're after.

Have you tried Jaipur? It's one of mine and my partners favourite fairly short, 2 person games.

My missus mentioned giving Pandemic a go. Would you guys recommend starting with the base game?

Yes. I've never played any of the expansions
Unless you mean instead of Legacy, in which case yes you should play that, but you can (and should) also play the base game on that before you start

Yeah, the base game is still good even after playing Legacy and from what I know a lot of the expansions are really good too. Can’t really go wrong with Pandemic!

You can play base pandemic with the legacy box before you start the legacy side iirc

Correct

Think my wife and I are going to give the first case a go in Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective: The Thames Murders tonight. We finished the Jack the Ripper one last week and needed more!

Pandemic Legacy is 12-24 games set over 12 months. (If you lose a month, you get a second go which is why it's 12-24 games).

It starts off as a normal pandemic game. But every month adds new rules, removes old rules, changes rules, adds mew characters/aniltiyes. tokens. You can be asked to add stickers the rules, to the board, to characters. You might be asked to tear up objectives and get new ones. The game changes (Signigicantly) over 12 months due to ongoing narrative.

I wouldn't go into as your first Pandemic - but if you think you will you can buy it, play normally (IIRC the rule book tells you how to - it's an officially supported option) for a few games to learn the basic, then turn on the legacy.

It's a game that changes every time you play starting off as your bog standard pandemic game which I'd definitely recommend playing several times first without changing anything. Each game you play then adds new or changes characters/tokens/rules and other gameplay elements. You open packages, tear up cards and stick stickers on the game board.
It's one of the best gaming experiences you can have so I'd definitely recommend getting it. You could always try the base game app version out as well

Picked up Quacks of Quedlingburg and played the first game today. Cracking little game, looks like a decent mix of luck and strategy with some interesting alternatives due to the different spell books. Anyone else played it?

Same here. It's been one of our top played games for a while and has been a hit with everyone I've introduced to it.

Yes, really enjoy it even though I have a knack for picking white tokens

Clank Legacy - Game 1

Quite like this - it's a nice twist on base Clank so far, and the additions to the map in just the first game are interesting. I'm not sure how the co-op but competative thing is going to work out.

We did this on TTS due to current conditions. The mod was good - but you definately lose a lot from the experience not actually destroying cards/adding stickers etc
