What a game. So good it spawned a whole genre of clones, each riffing on the base in a unique way.

Here's a great review from the boys at shutupshow:

Board games are awesome, but I prefer cards.

It's a very tongue in cheek game :D it's like a deck builder with dice, good fun and also very quick.

Sounds like my kind of game!

I was wondering where the MTG set that I'd ordered had got to as I was sure it was due out soon.

Checked my account and....

:fp:

Just going to cancel it but this does mean I now have some vouchers back to spend on something else! :D

Been looking at Small World or maybe Game of Thrones...decisions decisions!

That date's wrong. M13 should be getting to you soon.

Speaking of MTG, it's worth checking out the news from SDCC. Great cards in FTV: Lands, Return to Ravnica prerelease sounds amazing with guild-boosters and being able to play with the prerelease card.

See, I thought that was maybe the case but a quick look around afterwards seemed to come up with the same info. There's a Core Set available right now which might do me better, sounds like it might be more of a 'starter pack'?

Either way, I'll hang on and see if anything turns up. I'll check out the SDCC stuff though. Still loving the Steam version of it.

It should be soon and I think Amazon have their dates wrong. The 'pre-release' for M13 was this past Sat/Sun, and it should be on general sale soon. I still need to jump into DotP13!

Yeah the new set was only released yesterday. It's a pretty poor set for standard constructed if you're an experienced player, but seems great to draft.

I just ordered some singles and had pretty good luck at the pre-release, so I'm going to leave it at that for M13.

I don't know, looks pretty decent draftwise so you may aswell draft it a lot.

Certainly some good Standard pickups to be made, but it's not in rich in value as DKA or AVR are. Plus, not much reason to be playing standard at the moment personally. Next two PTQ Seasons are RTR Sealed and Modern I think, plus RTR will most likely shake up the format to a large extent.

There's a standard PTQ season going on right now! I'm going to be at the one in Manchester two weeks today.

I know, but even if I Q'ed I couldn't get the time off for the PT. (I did say personally, not in general!)

Speaking of PTQs, the ones currently known for the PT after Seattle...

Eclectic Games – Reading – 13/10/2012
The Gathering – Limerick – 27/10/2012
Firestorm Games – Cardiff – 03/11/2012
Highlander Games – Dundee – 10/11/2012
Patriot Games – Sheffield – 17/11/2012
Fan Boy Three – Manchester – 24/11/2012
Xtreme Trades – Colchester – 01/12/2012

Any of those you'd be going to Winck?

Definitely Manchester, maybe Sheffield.

Hm. Those, Reading and Cardiff are looking most likely for me, just as they're easily accessed by train.

Still surprised there's no London one though...

I have an account, and occasionally play Momir format, and once a year I play in the free event for judges. But I have no interest in paying twice over for my cards.

Fair enough. Don't even use it for Draft practice or owt? (Cube drafts this week- no value, but seriously awesome fun.)

If you're ever on and fancy some Momir though, feel free to add me. (SonataGuardian)

Picked up Dreadfleet for about half price at a wargames fair this weekend - the stall belonged to a wargames company that ebays models and stuff for you, so going to get rid of the vast majority of my warhammer collection there, it takes up way too much space and I haven't played a game in ages.
