Finally started my Pandemic Legacy Season 1 campaign last night. We used to have six in our game group but have dropped down to four for most weeks now so i've finally picked the four i'm going to play it with. :shifty: We managed to do January & February last night and it was intense. Our very first card we pulled in January was an epidemic and it seemed to only go downhill from there meaning we scraped a win on the last few turns. We managed to complete them both first attempts, with February feeling a lot easier with the use of the Quarantine Specialist and much better forward planning helping us out.

Played a game of Bohnanza and tried Gloom for the first time last night. Gloom has some really cool cards which are see through and it made me realise how easily pleased I am.

I'm patiently waiting for my Rising Sun pledge to turn up and in the mean time i've had three games (GKR: Heavy Hitters, The World of SMOG: Rise of Moloch & a Deception Murder in Hong Kong expansion) i'd Kickstarted turn up while i've been waiting and it's been driving me mad.

Oh, and for two player games to play with a partner i'd recommend any of these as they're all quite light and simple games to understand:

Qwirkle
Splendor
Kingdomino
Machi Koro

Gloom is really good though. The plastic cards are amazing.

Definitely burn the monopoly and replace with the European edition of Ticket to Ride.

Anyone here a fan of Ghost Stories? I'm tempted.

Inis is great two player. Me and my girlfriend don't play it with that way anymore because it gets a bit too competitive.

Me and my girlfriend enjoy playing it even though we don’t win very often. The main Criticisms of the game are the dice for attacking. You can get tokens to make it easier to defeat ghosts but way too often we only need one dice roll to be what we want and luck isn’t on our side. Which can cause things to get overrun very quickly or even bad luck with the ghosts we draw.

We still enjoy it and the planning and challenge is fun but we only win about 30 to 40% of the time so as long as you don’t mind most likely losing more than winning and the dice it is a fun game.

Nothing wrong with monopoly :shifty:

Had a 4 player game of uno with the in-laws the other night, they loved it plus it's so easy to play that we had some great chats while playing.

UNO is a great game. Have you seen the new Zelda version. (I think it’s UNO....)

Edit: just checked and yes, yes it is. Probably only in America though?……

You'll be fine!

Our "at home" D&D is really boring the tits off me now. 5 sessions in and the DM still hasn't introduced any kind of story arc or main quest, it's all just fetch quests. And we find about a dozen magic items every session. It's to the point where I really couldn't care who gets what and last session I almost audibly sighed when we found a +4 stat boosting item. The DM thinks he's God's strawberry floating gift to D&D as well.

I think I'm going to drop out of it anyway and start playing the Curse of Strahd campaign that another friend has invited me to.

+4 stat item? Wtf that broken as hell in 5e (which is meant to be light on magic items anyway)

I'm more worried that actually have to roll dice and use paper/books might be terrible after an online only session.

CoS is meant to be a goodie...but also brutal. Don't get too attached to your character :P

It can't be worse than Tomb of Annihilation, surely? I'm playing that in the Leicester AL and it's been devastating. I'm really looking forward to CoS either way.

I've never played online but I can't imagine anything beats rolling physical dice and amending your paper sheets.

I think the group tonight will have 1 or 2 of each dice

I've only done Lost Mines of Phandler (a few sessions before it fell apart, it's the starter box campaign...doing it again tonight) and Storm King's Thunder (over about a year so far  )

Just heard from the SKT group (big DnDers) that CoS is rock hard

I DMed the starter pack for a while and absolutely loved it. But again it fell apart after a while as a new person joined and some people took offense and caused a commotion. I just wish I knew more people that were as D&D mad as my best mate and I.

Patchwork
Odin's Ravens
Codenames Duet

Carcassonne and Ticket to Ride play well with only two players too.

I'd add Hive and Hanamikoji to that list too. Those were two I'd bring to board game meetups to save latecomers from having to wait 30 minutes for a game to start.

Quick question - is Talisman worth picking up?
