More than welcome. :D

Yeah we've been having a good time with it. Glorious chaos, especially on the smaller, more compact levels.
It's nice to have a couple of hours a week set aside to indulge in these classics.

Aayl streamed the games last night so you can see him doing quite well.

Again, the more the merrier. :D

Dowbocop wrote:Brilliant fun and a great chat with everyone too!

Yeah it was great having you on man. Hopefully you can play longer next time. :D

He's not streaming the Discord chat is he?

I think he was, yeah. It's what we usually do when we stream multiplayer games like this, Mario Kart or F-Zero.
Sorry, I never even thought to mention it.

No worries, it was all nice chat and fun times!

Yeah I don't think anyone doxxed themselves or anything. But it's probably fair to let you guys know when someone is streaming the chat.

One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

Nice.

I'll check that out at some point. At the very least I'll squirrel it away in my library until I look at again in 5 years and go "When did I get this?"

Gonna try and test out my UT server later on tonight, probably around 8ish. Anyone wishing to join in is more than welcome, in fact it really does need some additional players to be a worthwhile test.

I'm going to keep it vanilla to start, no mods, just the game with the community patch. I think it includes most of the stuff from the Bonus Packs already so we should be fine there. If there's anything more we want to add we can do so later.

Assuming the test goes well then this weeks game on Wednesday will be Unreal Tournament. Though I would ask everyone intending to play to install Quake II Remastered as a back up just in case. :slol:

If you want to take part and have no copy of UT, drop me a pm and I will sort you out. It's not actually possible to buy the game anywhere these days which is a shame. Epic seemingly have abandoned it. :(
If you already own the game, make sure you have applied the most recent community patch from OldUnreal.com.

https://github.com/OldUnreal/UnrealTournamentPatches/releases/download/v469d-rc4/OldUnreal-UTPatch469d-Windows.exe

This patch adds support for more modern renderers as well as new master servers, making the online fully playable again.

I would recommend getting the game installed and your preferences (controls, video etc) set up over the weekend.
Then have a play about with the various modes to get used to the game.

Any issues let me know folks. :D

I doubt I'll be around, but if I am, will quake 2 remastered on pc gamepass work? I have it on my xbox but if I do play I'd rather do it from my pc.

It should do. Friend invites won't work because we're on Steam, but the room code should still allow you to get into the game.

Same with the Xbox version.

I've got a bunch of stuff to sort out this evening but if you're still on later I'll try and join you for a UT test.

Just checked this out. Installed the steam version on one PC and gamepass on the other. Gamepass was able to join my steam game using the room codes. But it wouldn't show my steam name, just a load of ******************** which was odd.

The game itself played fine otherwise.

Well, the UT server is open for business. Right now I'm just letting it run through a basic deathmatch maplist with bots padding out the numbers.

If you have the game installed and the community patch installed, you can find me on the UT Servers tab of the Multiplayer mode.

The server should be called "GRcadeUTServer1" or something like that. It was top of the "G"s when you sort them alphabetically.
You can "right-click" and add it to your favourites once you have it.

The server is passworded for now as well. It's grcadeOnline2023.

I'm on the discord just now, so if anyone fancies a few games feel free to jump on!

It's as bare bones as it gets just now. I am planning on adding more server tools so I can control the game a bit more once it's running, but so far it seems absolutely fine when I connect to myself.

Cool man. I might not be playing it all the time but the server will be running and I'll be in the discord for the next couple of hours probably.
