What have you got? What do you want?

I'm no expert so I got myself the excellent Fujifilm FinePix F40fd last year as I just wanted a high quality compact camera:

I Might consider "upgrading" to the new F60fd when it comes out in September:

I've got a Nikon Coolpix 3700 for everyday pics, but I hate digital photography so I also have an old Pentax (ME-Super) and a couple of silly Lomo cameras.

I've got a Praktica...something or other. It's a bit bulky now, but is a few years old. Does the job though, and seeing as I'm not a huge photographer I've no reason to change at the moment. Cost me about £80 I think a few years ago.

This was my first digital camera, a Canon PowerShot A40:

I got it way back in 2002/03 and it looks horribly dated by today's standards although it was one of the smallest on the market at the time. It required 4 AA batteries to run so it weighed a ton. Still takes excellent photos though! Sadly this camera is now retired as it's just not pocket friendly.

After coming into a bit of money I plumped for a Leica M8.

Image

Technically it will never become outdated because Leika will upgrade it for you if you send it to them.

There's mine. The FujiFilm FinePix A820.

Good enough to not be a waste of time, but cheap enough to be something to not worry about taking a bit of a battering at gigs.

I've got a Nikon D40, with the 18-55mm kit lens, a 70-300mm lens and a 50mm lens.

Excellent camera.

I only know about them because a bloke who directed a video on the local music scene had one and a mate of mine was creaming his pants over it. Apparently it can do what massive cameras do, only better and in a much smaller shell. So it's great for taking shots of people miles away without mucking about with huge lenses, perfect for photo journos which this bloke worked as too.

The premium is that you pay nearly £3000 for one and you have to put a IR filter on it to stop the colours getting strawberry floated up. This is all supplied by Leica though. Basically it was described as the ultimate camera to me.

I don't know. I'd pay £3000 for a guitar so if you're into photography and like nice things I don't see why not. Then again, the £3000 guitar won't depreciate like a camera!

Got a Canon Digital Kiss X (as it's known in Japan) which is a Canon EOS 400D over here (I think). It's my first DSLR but with a few lense upgrades it's fantastic to shoot with.

^Beautiful camera Tafdolphin. I used to have a 400D and a 300D and I was pleased as punch with both of them. I had to sell them though due to having eff all money so now I just snap with my Ixus 750 which takes some nice photos but I miss the versatility and ease of my DSLR :(

Image

EDIT: Lovely shots as well I hasten to add!

Lens could do with a clean, used it rain a few times.

And I have full access to a Nikon D80 my Dad uses, he's up for me getting into photography so I can take it out if I'm in the mood.

I relise this is a joke, but Leicas are absolutely awesome cameras. My mate has a Leica M6-TTL and it has produced some amazing photos and is a dream to work with.

Anyway, my cameras are
