Why not support mk dons? They're much better :D

Well we're find out whose better soon, won't we. Although I'm a bit peeved as I going to be in Canada. Secretly hoping for a draw so I can watch the replay.

lex-man, I'm also a Wimbledon fan and I'm interested to know your thoughts on the MK tie? It's understandably getting a lot of coverage in the media and most of the articles seem to be suggesting that the majority of Wimbledon fans would rather this tie wasn't happening because it a) validates the existence of 'the franchise' and b) gives them money from ticket sales. But I'm personally looking forward to the tie in a grim sort of way and a lot of the people that I talk to at Kingsmeadow are too. What are your thoughts?

For anyone who's interested, there's a decent article about AFC on the Guardian website.

Firstly I want to see MK gutted to the point their fans walk out of the stadium, I'm talking 5, 6 - nil stuff. Which I very much doubt we're see but anyway.

On the move thing I'm unhappy with the way the split happened but I can understand why as business men they wanted to make the move. South London is dominated by Chelsea even before the take over and then there is Fulham, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur relatively close so Wimbledon always struggled for fans as does Fulham. I think that the MK management could have stepped more and quicker away from the Wimbledon history and let it go to AFC and they should have dropped the Dons part of their name.

I'm glad that it did happened because AFC seems like a much better club than the old Wimbledon and being fan owned is a plus for me and it looks like we're going to make the move back to Plough lane within in the next few years.

I have to agree with you to a certain extent. I understand the anger towards MK and there are certain things that I don't think can ever be forgiven but we've got a great club at the moment and we should be proud of it, rather than getting too hung up on the past.

As for beating them 5 or 6 nil, if we can't even beat Aldershot at home, I think that's unlikely!

Yup not a great season for us, I'm slightly worried about how badly we're going to get stuffed badly although who knows we did beat York 0-3 away a week ago.

True. In general I've been impressed with Neal Ardley, anyway. He's got us playing competitively at the very least!

I've just read that Guardian article I didn't realise that MK Dons only pulled in eight thousand on average. So the move wasn't even financially a good move. Although the old team Milton Keynes City F.C. never really went anywhere, I wonder if football isn't that popular in MK or if people there don't want to support them because of the move?

Perhaps they felt they couldn't support a club whose name is a lie.

As far as I am concerned - franchising should not be occuring in any league with promotions and relegations. With so many teams waiting in the wings for league football - no one should have ever been allowed to relocate. It makes sense in the MLS, NBA or NFL because they are contained leagues with no relegation.

It would be great if we started pulling in nine thousand regularly once we got our new stadium.

Quite a few rumours that we are in talks with Liverpool about a Downing loan deal.
Not sure how credible though. Fingers crossed.

Tell me, after walking your dogs, are you planning to steal some more stuff off of the Rugby club?

How the hell can Bristol Rovers take the piss out of Bristol City? I'll laugh at Southampton losing and revel in it, but I'm not stupid enough to gloat about it.

Nothing was stolen, everything was above board. Besides which, with any hope, the Rugby club should be coming to rip your gooseberry fool tip up soon!!! 8-)

Steal a stadium, pretend it was legit.

Strugle to survive in League Two, take the piss out of a Championship club.

Gas logic is wonderful.
