Just lost to Hypes as black, GG dude.

I don't want to see any of this humble 'I fully expect you to beat me' stuff either, according to the analysis you played practically flawlessly in what was a hugely complicated end game that I was struggling to understand. Equal material, kings on opposite sides, isolated pawns. Very difficult to make progress and yet you ruthlessly took advantage of any slight inaccuracies on my part. I'm not bad at chess, not brilliant but certainly above average, but that was an extremely high level, 2000 rating territory without question. And it wasn't even taking you any time! I think we could play 100 times and I wouldn't win a single one.

I also lost to Hypes. Kept in it for awhile but always felt like was on the back foot in the second half.

Did drag it out way longer than needed mind you, sorry Hypes

I've got 2 games left. One against Cuttoth and one against. They're both early days.
I won both reverse fixtures.

I won my first game against Cora. We've just started the second.

Good game, Cora. I feel like I stumbled across that win as it just came to me when I was planning a move and working out what might happen next. I was quite lucky that you didn't castle, though I also didn't castle when I should have.

I'm running very slowly, sorry folks. I am not getting notifications of moves being made even though I have push notifications on, and lost to Hypes because I just ADDed out and forgot to check. Hopefully the last two games are wrapped up shortly!

By the way, if anyone is looking to improve their game by watching chess videos on YouTube I cannot recommend Daniel Naroditsky enough. He's a grandmaster but also, a wonderful teacher. Really easy to follow and explains things in a really concise but thorough way.

Also my game against Hypes is done - I didn’t get a notification he’d made a move and accidentally timed out. Just one game left against Super Dragon to try and salvage a bit of pride.

Finished 1-1 between me and Super Dragon. Was getting a bit stressed out at the end of the second match and overthinking my moves.

Sorry for taking so long with this game Hypes, I'm not very emotionally invested, my bad.

I'm guessing the answer is no but anyone paying any attention to the FTX Crypto cup? It's a rapid tournament between all the top guys, super interesting to watch especially because the games are relatively short and mistakes are made. Live streamed on YT and Twitch by Chess24, I've been enjoying it a lot, the commentators do a good job of explaining the finer points.

I have hardly ever played chess; once or twice at school and once or twice with my dad as a kid.

But I'm getting into the game at chess.com; I have played three games and gained a record of L-L-W... against the lowest CPU levels, obvs. I made so many bad moves which were kindly reported to me afterwards, too.

I'm lousy at the game and very slow but also enjoying it so far.

I always thought I was amazing at chess until I started playing online, makes you realise how steep the learning curve is. I'm alright, but I'd like to be better.

Gutted I missed this GRcade tournament though, sounded like fun!

Just popped back to chess.com and played a CPU 400... and claimed victory! I'd thought I was down n' out but I (luckily) turned the tables :-).

Was the GR tournament two years ago?!

I haven't really played Chess since then, which is a shame because I loved it when I tried to play properly! I've had a few things going on which have affected my ability to really crack on with it. I do feel stronger for having learnt the basics though - the strategic thought does move through to other games and has me thinking about other things in a different way.

Hi all, is there any interest in another tournament? I'm considering running one but would like to gauge interest before deciding on a format.

FYI, we will be having a strict no anal bead cheating policy.
