2-0 against Curls. He fell into an early trap in the second game which is a shame but good games nonetheless!

Just Hypes left for me but given the tournament situation I wondered whether it might be fun to leave that match until last as a sort of final.

What are the current league standings, please? I'd love for this to keep going or have another tournament soon.

Meh I was playing too quickly. I pondered the move with my queen to e 5 and then decided. Nope I can just make him move the Bishop or exchange it.

What a bloody tool.

That's what I have not enjoyed about this tournament, I know I'm good if I sit there and think. But I just hate the way slow chess is played, its not impulsive enough for me. Anyone who sits there and thinks when I'm responding to moves quickly will have me.

Yeah I agree. I'd much rather have dedicated 10-minute games. Appreciate not everyone has the time but I think it's a better way to play.

Blitz is a different animal, no question. I'm much worse at it. In some ways it is more pure because it's instinctive but it tends to reward strong tactical players who can quickly spot tricks, it's less about strategic positional understanding. Maybe a blitz tournament next? Would level the playing field for slightly less experienced players.

Different rather than better. You learn more in slower games, blitz is a blunderfest at our level and that's fun but also infuriating. Maybe 10 minute rapid is a decent middle ground.

Yeah I think it's the best of both worlds but I'm not complaining. Happy to do it again whichever format.

So many blunders against Hypes :fp: good games though.

Hypes beat me 2-0.

I've only got Cora left to play.

I’ve been a bit slow getting my last few games completed because if I’m honest I’ve been absolutely obsessing over Resi for a few days now. Sorry lads.

Yeah good games. Letting me get my queen next to your King got you in real trouble, could just start sweeping up pieces then. Still can't believe my opening moves though  :fp:

Still have games to play against Pancake, Tomous, and Blue Eyes, and one in progress against Cora which isn't going great

I dunno what you did with that knight at the start but I've promptly done my usual and shat away a rook so don't worry about it.

I did pretty much the same against Dragon at the beginning. It was late and I was playing too many games is my excuse. Just tried to be too clever and completely missed the queen both times  :fp:

Yeah, you should have moved your Knight just then. This is the part of the game I'm most comfortable with, I've no idea how to really start and probably don't force a mate as quickly as I could. Give me a spread out board and picking off opponents pieces, I can do that!

Tomous, I'm relying on you to take Hypes down so I can just exchange my way to draws and win the tournament. :shifty:

Well I'm happy for you to give me a free knight like you did against SD64 and Cora, in case you weren't sure.

Let the games begin... Enjoy and good luck! :)

I'm confused as to who I have left to play. Is it just Pancake and Tomous?

Yes, I checked your past games and you've played everyone else, currently at 11 wins out of 11. Just the second game with Cora to finish + me and Tomous to play.
