De La Rue drop passport appeal.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-43807190

Hopefully De Leroux will have enough work from their 40 other customers to keep their workforce intact

The main issue to me is that my primary identification document will not contain the name of a political union I want no part of and was given no choice about joining

Will I be happy to stand in the non-EU queues at airports? I do already.

Inflation down, we were told by the know it alls it would be at 20% by now, who was lying then ?

That Brexit result in full:

Left behinds voted as a protest/spite 19%
Pensioners who think it's 1941 still 17%
Racists 12%
Want bendy bananas/believed the bus 4%

Total Leave 52%

Normal well balanced people 48%

The remain vote:

MPs and their cronies 2%
youth indoctrinated by left wing universities 10%
'I'm alright jack' champagne socialists 35%
BBC 1%

If anything should be made in the UK it has to be this!

Bored with our politicians, how about putting the UK FIRST?

Free speech does not exist here on the BBC, really wonder what my grandfathers fought for during the last century, several of my comments have now been removed as it doesn't fit into their Left wing agenda.

Its time for the BBC to be abolished imho.

Don't the government know why the vote went the way it did, this is one of the reasons!!!

The change to blue is cosmetic, however also symbolic of a change.
Akin to eastern countries throwing out the sickle & hammer flags a generation before.
Not everyone agreed with that change either, however now we look back with hindsight and realise that it was a good thing for progress.

Just part of history, people. Not worth getting into an argument about.
There are worse problems....

Why do we have to pay more than Spanish for their passports?

I'm starting to maybe think these people have either been caught out for not playing their licence fee or they want the downfall of the beeb so they don't have to pay for it.

Or maybe they are just banana splits.

National Trust should get "radical"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-43819762

"Radical" sounds very ominous to me. I'm praying this isn't a code word for turning the NT into some politically correct nightmare with a destructive "cultural revolution", ludicrous "decolonisation", racist "purging white history", sexist "anti white male patriarchy". It's fine just as-is - well-managed, profitable, popular, high membership. Change is absolutely NOT needed.

Sounds like social engineering. Social engineers usually destroy everything they get their hands on.

The same organisation afraid of offending someone with the use of the word 'Easter' for an Easter Egg Hunt... at Easter?

Radical indeed.

a great organisation hijacked by corbyns loony left twitter army. afraid to upset anyone's feeling , they pander to the few and wonder why the many desert them. there are many more people in this country who are not that bothered by trial hunting, yet you think your the norm , your not. we care more about the work the N.T. do on our behalf , not who uses the land they own.

What`s her salary and who pays it?

Mrs McGrady is right, radical ideas are needed. May i suggest, to avert the true horror of existence in Theresa May’s Britain, her cataclysmic awfulness projected onto the nation like a pestilence across the land, that the Rothschild's etal properties are given over to the homeless and the children in trust, those who have suffered the consequences of the pyramid scheme of created debts.

It won't matter, they'll have no money due to Brexit

Might be a good idea to try and protect Britain's heritage first, rather that obsessing about politically correct jibberish

Whilst it's true that they need to behave like a business and run themselves in a business-like way (because they are in a competitive arena; plenty of other charities people can spend their money on), the last thing they need is:

Gender/Inclusivity/Quota targets and other such corporate guff.

Otherwise they will alienate their core supporters/members.

By radical does she mean a complete surrender to the nonesense that is political correctness? All that is needed is a retreat from promoting "fashionable" causes e.g. forcing volunteers to support LGBT issues

Comments like Ms McGrady's do make one worry that there is some strategic drift going on here and that the NT risks moving from preserving the nation's heritage to seeing itself as in the business of social engineering.

You can not seriously have the National Trust whilst selling out the country and squashing everything that is British. I thought anything Nation in this country was a hate crime?

Historic England have all but openly campaigned for the destruction of 'offensive' statues in the UK, most notably of late being Nelson's Column. The National Trust had to back-track on forcing its employees to wear the LGBTFRTYUJLT friendly rainbow badge last year

It would appear there is an active campaign within these national bodies. I'd say I was surprised, but that would be a lie.

Bad idea ...Please don't let the "urban" people ruin the Countryside too. They're happy where they are.

I've been a member of the National Trust for years and have enjoyed the history and heritage they protect and maintain for the Nation.

If by going "radical" they want to reach out to people in the inner cities and move focus away from where they are now so as to appeal to the young and inner city "communities" they won't be getting my £114 per year and I guess I'm not alone.

We need to wake up to the threat these common purpose Marxist are posing to our country.

They dominate the heads of public bodies and are goose stepping us towards tyranny.

David Davis expects MPs to back Customs Union exits.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-43892222

This is what the EU has given the UK
Increased crime
Housing shortage
Increased homelessness
School places shortage
Terrorists and terrorism
Animal torture through live exports
Human rights act ( the criminals safety charter )
Increased deaths on our roads
Pollution deaths by dirty diesel cars
Interference in "our LOL" laws
the super rich far richer

Good riddance

We have a Government hell bent on compromise against an EU that has shown no willingness to compromise at all. The country needs a Brexiteer to lead us out on our terms. Unfortunately May's heart isn't in the job.

EU BREECH TERMS OF MEMBERSHIP.

The EU have voted to exclude a member state, UK, from bidding for contracts related to the Galileo programme, of which we have contributed 12% of costs.
Decided to restrict our access to its use on security grounds.

I can only conclude that the EU no longer wish to have security co-operation with the UK.

Hope they never again require our help!!!!!

the BBC and mainstream media is a mouthpiece for far left views, stories about womens rights, equality pay, womens sport, migrant/rights struggles are all we hear everyday from bbc and the like. It's like social engineering by media. Any view that deviates from this narrative is shut down immediately. It's blatantly obvious this has been happening for the past 5+ years.

NORWAY & SWITZERLAND seem to do OK outside the EU & EURO.

Why shouldn't the UK also do OK - What's the problem ?

David Davis flew into Ireland to have a look at the British Border in Ireland but was disappointed when he was shown a small country road with absolutely no sign of a border, one of hundreds like it that go back and forth between the two Irelands.

He couldn't announce his visit in advance for fear of being sniped by the South Armagh Snipers.

Kick and scream all you like We are leaving and it for your own good

The adults have spoken

Get back to the Guardian, snowflakes and remoaners and leave the hard work to people who live in the real world

Brexit, it's sponsors and it's voters "out of control".
Another sunny day in KWITTERLAND.....

"The wheels on the bus go......
.... oh...... er..... where are the wheels children....?"
"Dunno missus......!"
"Windscreen wipers..?
"We won't need 'em missus, it's sunny, 'n there's no wheels..!"

"And there's no steering wheel....."
"It's a Brexit bus missus... don't you know nuffin....!"

Absolutely Mr Davis, 17:4 million UK voters (the majority) voted to leave the vindictive, dictatorial, money grabbing EU glee club. They didn't vote to leave part of it!! No single market, no customs union & no freedom of movement!! Thank you sir!

Because of the 80% of the population who now want to remain.........There should be a pro REMAIN team over their also included in the confabs.

End this brexit nightmare.

Bye-bye Good Friday agreement, hello hard border between either NI and RoI or in the Irish sea. Hello geet big queues at all the ferry ports, geet big lorry parks in Kent and bye-bye Japanese motor manufacturing.
Well done BNP/UKIP and the nasty party

Leaving customs union = the start of the break up of the UK

Can't wait to vote NI out of existence

Once they get involved the money flowing into the PREM will increase massively.

THE BEHEMOTHS OF AMAZON ETC WILL NOT CARE ONE BIT ABOUT THE ENGLISH SUPPORTER
THE MONEY IS TO BE MADE FORM THE CHINESE INDIANS ETC

Chinese Indians have ruined the game.

BBC homepage: "Amazon wins 20 Premier Leagues games a season"

More than Arsenal, then.

Basic burial costs go up by 75%.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-44151702

Cannot understand what all the whining is aboot here. Just bloody die. What thae problem? If ye die rich oh poore, your deed. The worms have thae! If there's nae one to pay, tis no your worry is it. Just say your peace with thy brethren afore ye go. A dram or twa owre body, job done. Sod local thourity, they canna leave maggot infested body on street!!

Another day, another SNP mess. You can even afford to die now.

Jolly I thought you would of been happy at the increase as it was no longer subsidised by the tax payers like yourself
Just ain’t pleasing some tories
Remoaners till they die

"Bring out yer dead"

Brexit days

Not like our councils, to prey on the vulnerable. No doubt the SNP solution will be to issue each new subject a baby box and a coffin on arrival. Probably with a prepaid funeral plan, in Gaelic priced in euros provided they are pro independence. Cremation is the way ahead, at least until the green lobby bans that due to carbon footprint.

I would rather be buried in the middle of wildlife, naked, no clothes, no coffin, nothing and bury a tree on top of me. If we are to make burials a thing for the future, we need to get away from this memorialising you in a grave. It would be cheaper, all you need is to pay someone to dig the grave. Anyone can share, you are dead so what does it matter. We should encourage mass graves.

I don't plan to get buried anyway as they can just throw my body in a ditch somewhere as I honestly don't care what happens to it after I die.
I'd give it to science but I don't have any interesting diseases or conditions so it would be a bit on the dull side to study.

A border poll in Northern Ireland would be "divisive" and "a bad idea", Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar has said.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-44406029

Why would it be a bad idea, what is he scared of.
Most NI people don't want a physical border and will vote this way. What they want acceptance the Ni is not part of Eire and for the Eire Gov to start coming up with ideas instead of following Junker.
Eire is the one who will lose out on hard borders not necessarily the UK in this instance

Leo can respect the GFA himself by pulling his little country outside of the EU or forcing the EU to provide a free trade agreement. The ball is in Leo's court. He just needs to learn to catch it.

In the meantime the UK should offer the Republica free trade deal to avoid a hard border and then let Leo decide whethet to reject it. This should be tied to continued power supply. No deal, no power.

I find it incredible that Brexit is being compromised over a technicallity! The majority of people probably have more in common with the Republic of Ireland than the UK and the sensible solution would be for NI to become part of ROI.
But wait a minute! The fear is that the Protestants would resort to violence. Why?

The ROI know that Brexit is a huge threat to their economy, but the reality is just that a threat to the ROI and an opportunity for the UK. After a few years of pain the ROI will want an EU referendum and will vote to leave making the current "noise" seem very hollow.

Very revealing that Varadkar is not a supporter of democracy. He is certainly another victim of the pro EU virus. A border poll in Northern Ireland seems the ideal logical step.

What a shame we have such a weak leader, a strong leader would tell the Irish what to do with their "advice". We have a leader of a very small and unimportant country telling us what we should do, you really could not make it up.

Time to tell the Irish to keep their advice to themselves.

Time for a English independence from countries that hate us even though they are happy to take our money to support their failing economies.

Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Northern Ireland get your money from the EU as I am fed up of my tax money going to you.

The solution to this is rock hard Brexit and a rock hard NI border.

A EU-sycophantic Left (BBC, Dublin, Labour, Liberals, SNP) portrays a mess whereas demonstrations of strong hearts & minds in the UK Cabinet can ensure that in the end we gain a clear-cut Brexit, not some soggy ill-defined French-style no-man's-land, which would threaten NI inclusion & status within the United Kingdom, for so long as a majority in NI wants that; Dublin is foolish to play its games

RoI - What a wonderful country. Having enshrined Roman Catholicism into its constitution, RoI is merely an extension of Rome rule. Hence why so many dark chapters have come to light recently:
- Magdalane Laundries
- Treatment of "fallen" women
- Forced illegal adoption records
- Ostracism of returning WWII veterans
- Collusion/funding of IRA

What sane person would want to be part of that??

Last thing we need is to set the irish off on another civil war over a fake deity. Why isn't this resolved already.

Leo = EU Puppet

Come on Ireland. You do most of your trade with the UK, not the EU, so join us and leave!
