Like any of them are going to ever see a £50 note in the flesh anyway. Well maybe a photocopied one.

No doubt they will be choosing a Politically Correct candidate to fit with the times. Either an LGBT (e.g. Turing) or a feminist or an atheist (e.g. Hawking). I would easily bet on it.

I'd be happy with both.

And why on earth they replaced Charles Darwin with Jane bastard Austin I'll never know.

Turing helped us win WW2 and probably saved millions and millions of lives. But putting him on the £50 note is PC gone mad...

What’s really funny is the people that think having a woman on the note is “PC gone mad!” are also the people that would love Thatcher to be on there.

Which proves one thing, Thatcher wasn’t a woman but a demon sent up from the depths of hell.

Common sense should prevail and if you take it into account there's really no other choice than Prof. Hawking.

More than any other dumb typical anti-PC comment, it's this kind that really pisses me off for some reason.

The dehumanising idea that this specific person couldn't exist outside this dickhead's joke or that it's ridiculous for someone to have more than a singular 'uncommon' trait.

Yep.

The whole thing is designed to belittle anybody who isn’t a straight white male. A woman gets a job on TV? It’s because she’s a woman! A disabled person on a bank note? It’s because they’re disabled!

In gammon eyes only white men achieve anything, everyone else is just fulfilling a PC quota.

Nasa lands a robot on Mars.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-46351114

A few years ago I would have been elated at this news. After reviewing the moon landings footage, I am having difficulty believing NASA. I hope it is true, and if so let's see a little more imagery that doesn't look like it has been taken with a camera in foggy weather. And while NASA's at it, lets see some time stamped, high resolution video streams of the the Moon.

Billions of dollars wasted for what? For us humans to one day ruin yet another planet. It would have been far better to put right this planet & the problems we have & will cause.

Examining May's Brexit 'deal' feels a bit like landing on the surface of Mars - you look for life but probably won't find any...

They landed on Mars because there about to disclose E.T's, they have known about them for years and now there going to disclose them to the world, and now they are going to start destroying there planet like we have our's

All this technology then NASA shouldn’t have a problem showing us the Moon lander, the flag etc sitting there lifeless on the moon?.That would put to bed the faked not faked argument, once and for all would it not?.Or a bit like all those ‘Lost feeds’from the space station, are NASA telling porkies?.

All that money spent to find out whether the core is molten, and if you can grow potatoes..... Why can't people from NASA grow a brain and research another source of propellant to get us there and discover it ourselves, instead of spending millions on a rover to land and shut down after a few years...

NASA under the Trump administration produces a big success whereas the EU could only produce 2 failed attempts to land on Mars

No big surprise

I'd like to say congratulations to NASA. While you receive 52 million dollars a day, on this Earth there are people starving, living in poverty. People dying of Cancer, Aids etc. The biggest money laundering opporation ever.

There's nothing out there to find that will help us. The Trillions of money wasted on space (Science fiction) could have been spent down here on Earth. Cancer could have been a thing of the past by now!

Don't worry about NASA's budget, we Brits are pumping £14 Billion a year into foreign aid.

On average Mars is 140 million miles away from Earth so Scientists claim. You really believe you can send an image back from the Mars surface to Earth? Through all that space and Van Allen Belts while we all spin around.

"The first picture of this landscape came back very quickly, within minutes". Hmm really? It's so unbelievable that people actually believe these lies!

Kellogg's is to put "traffic light" labelling on most of its cereal packs sold in the UK from January, having previously refused to do so.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-46373342

STOP

MEDDLING

WITH

ARE

LIFES

NANNY

ST8

Just ignore this traffic light nonsense. Let the small-minded remaindeers have their fun by putting these stupid signs everywhere; the rest of us can just get on with more important things while paying no attention to their childish - yet oppressive - behaviour

PC nonsense...it's up to parents to decide what their kids eat & to say no when their 5yr old is screaming in the supermarket isle for the 750g box of chocolate or sugar coated cereals!

Yet another benefit to Brexit .. we can enforce our food labelling standards. Good.

If I spent time reading all the warning labels these "Do Gooders" think up it would take me hours to do the shopping. As always I buy the foods I enjoy eating... "Warning, this yellow skin contains Banana". How did our parents survive to have us without the labels.

They put smoking kills on cigarette packets and people still buy them. This won't make any difference. If you are overweight it is completely your responsibility to change that, stop blaming others for your problems.

Got to love the BBC's "impartial" headline - Kelloggs 'gives in'.

In fact, Kelloggs has agreed to use a voluntary system.

Voluntary means you don't actually have to do it.

'Gives in' implies some sort of coercive force being applied.

Stop the constant agenda-driven "news" and stick to facts, BBC. Better still, become subscription-only and see just how "trusted" you really are.

"Under EU rules, traffic light labelling is voluntary, so some manufacturers do not use it."

No wonder Kellogg's were big backers of the Remoan campaign then... another big business in the pockets of the EU cabal... not to mention their gushing of support for Hilary Clinton too.

Slowly, slowly the slime starts to ooze out as we creep ever closer to Freedom Day on March 29th.

Kelloggs should have just said stuff it and walked out of the UK. More profit could be made elsewhere where there are no do-gooders trying to impose their will on Joe Public. Joe Public has a choice - buy Kelloggs or not.

I've got a humorous idea. Let's force nut sellers to add "warning, contains nuts" on the package - that would be so funny.
Oh wait, that already happens. Clever, these middle classes, aren't they?

153 "I find this strange, when I was a kid growing up in the 80's/90's all these cereals were available ... yet... you could count on two hands the amount of fat kids."

Same here in the '70s. Difference was, we walked to school, played outside, and it was even safe to cycle on the roads. Happy days!

This initiative will be a cereal killer.

It's things like the nasa comments that make me genuinely angry. These absolute cretins crawl amongst us.

Yeah those NASA comments are genuinely terrifying in what they reveal about some people's level of comprehension and understanding.

The UK should be able to unilaterally cancel its withdrawal from the EU, according to a top European law officer.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland- ... s-46428579

An unelected judiciary acting on behalf of an unelected commission telling elected representatives to ignore an instruction from their electorate.

When I was a boy, I think that was known as Communism.

Democrats, it is time to challenge the people who wish to destroy our Democracy, in 2016 there was a Democratic people’s vote on whether we should leave the EU, a massive 17.3 million votes in favour of Leave won with the difference a massive 1.3 million over remain votes.
In recent history others have tried to take our democracy and failed
I know I want Democracy to win through.

Poor desperate subversive remoaners.

We voted Out.

If you don't like democracy then move to North Korea.

Bye!

Cancell Brexit and firstly our relationship with the rest of the EU will never recover and secondly I fear what has happened in Paris over the weekend could be repeated and worse in Britain

They were never going to say no and turn down our billions... the puppetmasters in France and Germany know their contributions would go up in excess of 30% to fill the hole UK contributions left, so they weren't going to reject it, now were they?

It's the EU's wet dream: a democratic leave vote overturned and power restored to the unaccountable eurocrats. Arise Emperor Juncker...

Passing sovereign rights and control to a foreign power is the definition of treachery .
Wake up remainers !!!

So the Eu says ignore the will of the people. .and that's just a reminder of why people want out in the first place so hurry up and get it done.

Still trying to tell us what to do.
That is why we voted to leave.
EU Lawyer.. thick or what ?

78% of British voters now want BREXIT according to the latest opinion polls. a fact the Remoaners don't like...

These people are the reason I sometimes think a benevolent Dictatorship would be a good idea.

Or at the very least mass sterilisation.
