Hamleys also have stock of Series X but unfortunately their 10% discount code doesn't work with it. You may get 3.2% Quidco back though.

I saw that tweet 11 minutes after it was first posted. I passed it on three people I know still looking for the disc console. They ALL managed to get one, and without any basket hassle :o

Does anyone know the reason xbox seem to be having less trouble with supply of their hardware?

The Xbox Series X is *still* in stock at Amazon. Microsoft seems to be able to put more consoles on the shelves than Sony right now.

Microsoft must have been willing to pay to secure components and manufacturing space. The bigger orders you put in, the quicker you move to the front of the queue.

They're probably paying more because (wild guess) MS are making more consoles than Sony. (I'm assuming they're making more Series S than Sony are producing digital PS5s)

It's interesting as to consoles sales as MS doesn't release numbers. Xbox has recently had more availability so I'd imagine they've done well; the other side of the coin is that they don't seem to sell out that quickly now whereas PS5s sell out very swiftly. Unless we see sales figures from both companies, it's a battle of sound bites :-)

I'd imagine that the Series S has been a real winner over the past year; it has had good availability and I suspect that many folk got tired trying to get an X or a PS5 and settled with the S instead.

Did some digging and this seems to be valid - PureXbox reported early last month that MS were rumoured to have paid to secure priority placing in the chip manufacturing process.

Going by current console availability, I suspect that whatever deal they agreed it could well still be in place.

MS haven't release numbers of sales for years now, just because they are doing really well shouldn't change that.

It's widely rumoured that Xbox did pay extra to get their consoles out and they would be making Series S's way easier and faster than Series X/PS5's which presumably means S's are the bulk of sales. If someone can't get a PS5, many will jump onto a Series S for a stop gap, MS would be hoping some would keep subscribing to Gamepass after that.

That's one way to crush the competition I suppose, late stage capitalism is just great. Think MS has done comparible things with Windows, if I recall...

Are you sure about this? Surely they would just continue to use their PS4.

I’m not sure at all… but they are selling well to someone was just guessing maybe it’s a possibility?

We have forum members in here that have one as their second console already....

Hardly, but the reality is that MS have far deeper pockets and are being extremely aggressive when it comes to eliminating the competition. I'm not happy at all with Sony's recent activity either, the entire market is doing my head in at the moment: always online games, nfts, £70 games, PS backwards compatibility, massive levels of consolidation, pitiful DLC, releasing unfinished games, the list goes on.
