Don't want to have to spend more time in the local supermarket than is necessary looking for obscure items, but thought this would be a fun and useful way to broaden our cooking horizons and share what we've been making in lockdown.

This is a recent favourite of mine, really easy curry that tastes brilliant. I chuck in some chopped up pork for additional protein and sustenance:

I'm cooking this right now, will let you know how it goes. Have a couple of recipes which will share tomorrow

What was the verdict?

Gonna try a stripped back version of this tonight: https://www.mygourmetconnection.com/vie ... ato-sauce/

Actually very nice, good shout :)

Reckon it could do with some spinach being added. Really wanted to add some Chicken but trying to do do veggie one day a week at least.

Definitly being added to the recipe rotation. Only Challenge will be Chickpeas seem to be in national shortage at the moment. Having said that, Going to eat the rest tomorrow.

I clicked on this out of curosity because my dumb brain interpreted the title as people somehow using the Covid-19 virus as a cooking ingredient

The majority of meals is all home cooked by me or my partner with no frozen meals or anything out of a jar. Last night I done a seriously tasty Cottage Pie (Grated cheddar on top too) unbelievably easy to make.

Followed by a simple but tasty Banana Cake I made!

(Lloyd Grossman jar was only bought cause could I strawberry float find passata early in the week)

Actually Virus Pie is a delicacy in many impoverished rural communities.

These guys' store cupboards must look very different to mine. Also the amount of fresh veg (some of which seems pretty niche, although maybe it's just me?) I would argue goes against the idea of it being from a store cupboard.

I love the Guardian for that, all those types of articles are the same. Let me just grab my cavatappi...

I made this yesterday, extremely easy and considerably tastier than I thought it would be:

I’m using this as a good way to go more veggie as they are easy to get and I need to go that way anyways. Although im keeping fish and seafood as I don’t think that’s as bad and I like fish.

Giving a Jamie Oliver veggie cottage pie a go today which has heaps of veg so hopefully it will work.

I've found myself eating pasta a lot more than I used to since it's so quick and easy to do, especially now that it's not difficult to buy.

Meals are a mix between trying new things and just making burgers and comfort food. Did make some canneloni for the first time at the weekend though, filling them was a hassle but they were delicious. I think next time Ill just make the filling with some fusili or something like that.

Sharing this cake recipe because it's the single finest cake I've ever made. Don't worry about the banana chips on top and if you don't have sour cream then ignore the icing as it's lovely without too. It's also a good way to use up bananas that have gone beyond eating (unless you're one of the weirdos who like black bananas)

Made a huge pot of chili earlier in the week so got at least another two dinners to come out of it. I love me some chili. I hear adding coffee to it is a thing but I've never tried it.

Grated high cocoa content chocolate (80% or higher) adds depth to a chilli as well.

Made this honey mustard roast chicken last night which ended up being one of the easiest and best meals I've eaten in a while.

Didn't have cayenne pepper to hand but was still excellent.

Yeah that's a good one. Had to forego chocolate this time though as I didn't have any in the house and didn't feel like making a shopping trip just for that. :P

Made myself spaghetti aglio, olio e peperoncino for lunch, really good and very simple dish similar to the one Blue Eyes posted on the other page.

Discovered that Wagamama have been putting out some cook at home recipes for their dishes, so naturally went to check out the chicken katsu curry.

It really bothers me that he keeps referring to the curry sauce as the katsu. Katsu is the breaded meat cutlet. I know it would be daft to expect genuine authenticity from Wagamama, but you'd think they might at least know why the things they're cooking are called what they are.

Looks like a dead easy curry sauce recipe though, so will definitely be trying soon.

What a coincidence, cooked my first ever katsu last night. Chucked a couple of chillis in, was very good:

Pls, no bully.

This is almost as bad as when Jamie Oliver tried selling jerk rice.
