I was reading through the Adam & Joe topic and remembered this gem of a TV show (pun not intended initially, but I'll take credit for it now).

I'd forgotten just how much of a sense of humour Richard O'Brien had (and what an accent!). Obviously he made the show. Shame he had to go, but people move on, I guess. Incidentally, Richard O'Brien also wrote The Rocky Horror Show and starred in its film adaptation, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, as Riff Raff.

Aren't I a fountain of knowledge tonight?

My dad is good friends with Richard O'Brien, I know him well, he's totally eccentric.

Thought he was dead.

And yes the Crystal Maze was mandatory viewing when younger. Wasn't there an attempt to do a forum game on GR that failed?

Ahh I remember that show, I used to watch it all the time. It's a shame that it doesn't do it no more, perhaps it'll come back in the future? :?

That was brilliant, a proper team game which really worked.

And we won with one player less than everyone else as the-elbo disapeared!

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

He's not, you're probably thinking of Saddam Hussein.

I'm actually quite surprised when I think about it that this hasn't been resuurected already. Especially in this age of lazy, playing it safe entertainment executives remaking every damn thing that anyone has fond memories of.

It requires a huge expensive set.

Actually, until I looked him up on Wikipedia, I thought he was dead too. Maybe it was a rumour that nobody decided to check which got out of hand somewhat and became near fact.

If they re did gladiators then its possible.

Interesting trivia. The crystal maze had the largest indoor set of any tv show. true. 8-)
