Fingers crossed Moggy, depends how successful the project is! Part of our lab is based in Canada too so I'm constantly on the look-out for a good excuse to go over (haven't found one yet though...).

For sure, if I'm ever lucky enough to blag a trip to Canada we'll definitely have a pint.

(I thought that might potentially be the first international GRcade meet but then I remembered the Aaron x Lewis debacle :slol: ;) )

Well, what I've been up to is working on a lot of collaborations with other academics (science  but also networking :dread: ).

Anyway, this has culminated in successfully proposing an international collaboration with a researcher in Brazil -- my supervisor put us in touch so I could share my project proposal, and the academic thought it was a good idea, so we're going to be building some computational biochemistry software together. I'm excited :toot:

I thought academia was dead and buried post-brexit? Yet another example of Project Fear proving false

 We're very lucky to have some non-European international links in place.

My career wouldn't have got off the ground without some very generous EU funding though. :( Goodbye bureaucrats' rose, like a candle in the wind  ;)

That's a pretty high standard to live up to.

As a side note, I also tried to meet Anung and Bunni as we all happened to be in Japan at the same time but they flaked out. :x

Why was that? I don't remember. I know we were gunna head to Kyoto on the last day but g-rat got posted to Tokyo for work so we ended up staying if that was it?

But we're heading back next year hopefully so we can make up for it.

I'm getting pretty bored at work.

I'm in an admin role so pretty easy stuff and I'm also doing a Green Belt Six Sigma, this course is to look to improve a pretty big issue the Building Society has.

Problem is the problem stems from another department so it doesn't impact them so they don't want to know.

It's getting to the point I'm checking for internal vacancies on a pretty regular basis as my main job is too easy.
