Can anyone who's actually unlocked the full game tell me how hard it gets toward the end? I don't want to spend 800 points only to find it has a difficulty curve like a brick wall later on.

Its a pretty long game, I've done the first few levels and a few of the Arcade levels.

Seems like it does get more difficult but that there are specific strategies that 'work' against certain enemies...having said that I have died a few times already.

This is easily worth the 800 points, the combat is every bit as rich and deep as the likes of Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden and - for me at least - even more rewarding.
Visually this is one of my favourite games so far this year, possibly even the past couple of years, it's stunning and although there is some screen tearing at times, you scarcely notice it as you're too busy slicing the gooseberry fool outta some cyborgs to care!

Just saw the screen tearing for myself. Happened when I used the skull magic which made an already busy screen busier.

I really like this, not sure if it would work on 2 player though.

I like Hugo and Sarge.

Leave Hugo alone peeps! :x

I actually kind of understand what he's going on about. :o

Further proving how gooseberry fool GameCentral becomes with every passing moment.

They actually gave it 3/10, crazy score especially as it's been averaging around the 8/10 mark elsewhere.

I just played some of this today (about half way through), and so far it's excellent. The v-sync issues are irritating, but that's about it. I really do wonder if Games Central actually like video games sometimes.

Really enjoying this game, ninja is a crippling difficulty at times and sometimes death can seem a little unfair, but the game keeps the action flowing with some impressive boss encounters, new weapons being handed to you to mix things up and keep things fresh, and little quirky bits like the guitar or an encounter whilst sliding down a wire to give you a quick thrill as well.

The combat is also great fun and I've almost reached a 300 hit combo when the action gets flowing, fantastic stuff. Good variety of combos as well!

Oh and in two player is absolutely freaking rocks, I don't know how they worked their magic but there's no slow down and hacking the enemies down with a friend is great fun as you sometimes do impressive manouvres that look really cool, that neither of you even intended to do.

This is one of the best arcade titles I've played to date, and my fav arcade title of the year so far.

Ouch, I got my arse totally handed to me by that viking-looking boss at the train yard! He's very difficult to hit and when you do, he reverts to his charge attack which instantly knocks you back without warning!

This is gonna take some skill... which I don't have.

For those who persist with The Dishwasher, however, there's a deep and interesting set of mechanics here, which ought to appeal to fans of Viewtiful Joe, God Hand and perhaps even those a little disappointed by MadWorld. Never mind the fact James Silva made the whole thing by himself; if the next game he makes can distil existing game ideas with this much confidence, he'll already be able to teach his Xbox Live colleagues a thing or two about where they're going wrong.

8/10

Does this have proper Story mode Co-op? I thought it didn't but Eurogamer alluded to something about it unlocking after getting some amulet.
