Nothing will ever come of impeachment. It’s relatively simple to impeach a President in the House, but to convict and remove them you would need 2/3rds of the Senate. Even with a few rebel Senators, there would never be the numbers to convict even if the opposition party controlled the Senate.

But that’s not the point.

Very good opening statement from Schiff. Could only take a minute of Nunes before muting.

As much as I'd love to see Trump impeached The Republicans are going to defend him no matter what evidence is bought against him.
Short of Trump deciding to start openly boning all the wives of the guys in the Senate they aren't going to even vote on impeachment.

It's almost certain they're going to vote on Impeachment in the Senate and almost certain that it won't pass. You never know though.

Whilst this is at once fascinating and horrifying to follow it's also tragically impossible to get that excited about as we know the end result is going to be nothing.

Yep, Mitch McConnell as leader of the senate has already said he isn't going to be watching and he has the power to just veto a vote in the senate and he will.

Mitch is just a horrific person who's spent his entire career blocking anything demorcrats want for purely partisan reasons and he openly brags about it.

The reps will be able to use it as proof that Trump is innocent and it'll be the basis of his second term as president.

McConnell has already said that he'll make sure Trump is acquitted on all counts.

He's such a great guy  .
So great to see someone whose job it is supposed to be to be impartial and work for the American people just say "strawberry float that, all that matters is kissing Donalds ass!" that's a real show of what public service workers should all aspire to.

It's so amazing I just wish I could fly to the USA right now and give the guy a hug.

The system is utterly broken if you can have a hearing full of evidence that proves the allegations of criminal wrongdoing only for the party the accused is from voting it down whatever.

On live now -

Former Ukraine Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch is scheduled to testify before the same committee on Friday. It does not yet have a scheduled time, but it's expected to begin in the morning. Yovanovitch, who still works in the State Department, was ousted from her ambassadorship earlier this year because of what she testified were "unfounded and false claims by people with clearly questionable motives," a reference to the effort led by Giuliani and his associates to remove her. Yovanovitch told lawmakers she also pushed the State Department to speak up and defend her amid the attacks from Giuliani and his associates, but her requests went unanswered amid concerns about how Trump might respond, possibly by using Twitter.

I can imagine while Trump was elected as the president, some one says "You'll have to stop using twitter."

Trump: "I'm the President. I can do anything I want, so I refuse."
