This will do a SWTOR Mk.2 - sell well initially then utterly tank, going free to play within a year. Developers will eat their words and playing from the Microsoft book of 180's, saying stuff like "exciting new opportunities to let more people play TESO than ever before" which translates as "Oh god, we made a terrible mistake and are paying for our disgusting hubris by eating pot noodles and/or our pets, please bail us out."

I'll wait for it to go free-to-play.

I'd consider paying that if it did something different, but really it looks so far to be a less-good Elder Scrolls game, and there are other people there. Also, new for MMO games, you can play in first person... I'll wait.

I really didn't think that they would make the same mistakes as past developers.

Isn't £8.99 a month the standard MMO subscription? World of Warcraft is that much and has been since day 1.

WoW can just about get away with it because it's WoW. MMO subscriptions are dead and buried it's as simple as that, I give it 6 months before TESO goes down the SWTOR route.

I simply will not pay a monthly fee for any game ever. Full stop. No deal.

Such a shame.

The release date for this has now been announced, 4th April 2014 for the PC version. Apparently sometime in June for consoles.

Cannot wait for this, there will be an open beta before release too.

Are there keys given out or like if anyone has one to share, I'd gladly take one. But I'm not sure it works that way...
