Oops, I'd forgot that I'd mentioned it before!

I've not read too much about that game but it sounds interesting. I'll keep an eye out when it arrives on PS4.

I'd never played a MMORPG until I got my PS4. I started on FF XIV and enjoyed that, albeit I only played it for a bit before ESO arrived and that then kinda took over the time that I had to spare. I haven't played FF XIV for AGES now, nor ESO for about six weeks, so I need to sort that out.

ESO is obviously an RPG and quest based which is great but Ark is something different altogether.

The server you are on is persistant, when you log off your character doesn't dissapear, it stays on the server albeit asleep, as such you have to build a house so when you log off your character doesn't get eaten by dinosaurs or attacked by other players. When you die you lose everything you have on your person but retain whatever level you where which dictates what you can make. So the server becomes your 'home'.

You get some odd situations, I could be hunting with a bow in a jungle and I'd meet another player who's in SWAT gear, night vision goggles and has a sub machine gun!!

It seems that very few GRcadians play MMO(RPG)s. Seven is a huge fan of FF XIV (and I think Laga used to play) and I will (eventually) return to that, and I know that a couple of folk play World of Warcraft, but ESO seems quiet here.

I didn't originally pay a sub but the crafting bag is such a boost; almost essential for the amount of stuff that is collected and crafted. Additionally, you get to access all of the game expansion DLC content. Now that I've started paying it I won't be able to go back to the non-pay approach... :| .

Hey, Photek - did you know about One Tamriel, the next big ESO update? It transforms the game, allowing players from each of the three groups to team-up and fight any misison in any order; with enemies scaling accordingly. We'll be able to walk right across all areas of Tamriel, choosing to tackle and when. I don't think a specific launch date has been announced, but it seems that it could arrive late this year.

I'm still on and off with Final Fantasy XIV, I tend to switch between it and World of Warcraft, usually buy a 60 day timecard for one, then when it runs out buy a timecard for the other.

I have the PC version of Elder Scrolls online but I've never really got too into it. Admittedly I haven't made much effort to yet so it's my fault rather than anything with the game.

What the....?!?! I'd completely forgotten about this! Proof that man-flu really is the most vicious of health impairments.

23gb, though, gee... that'll be an overnight download for me.

Yeah, it's super slow on PS4, too. Horrendously so. In fact, I'm gonna vent in the PS4 Chat Thread about PSN download speeds. *Again* :toot: .

Nice one, Dragon. The free-to-play option applies to the PS4 version, too :toot: .

Is the 'try free demo' under the purchase price the free weekend trial?

I think so, as that's what I'm currently downloading.

The full game is only £7.99 and, as my journey to level 400 in Destiny comes to a close, I do fancy another MMO. At £8 it is well worth a punt. As it includes Tamriel Unlimited, this was the latest big update Jawa was talking about?

The full version with all four DLC packs is £20, so going to try the demo and see how much it grabs me.

How much does all that DLC add to the game?

I think it's definitely worth a look, Parksey. It probably won't suit everyone but I feel there is a ton of enjoyable gaming there for folk that do get stuck into it. The latest update effectively opens up the whole of the land* for instant access; you can travel anywhere and tackle quests in any order. The quests scale according to your character levels and you can face most of them solo or in partnership.

The game is huge and the various gameplay elements take time to learn; I'm at level 20 but still feel like a beginner :) .

* The DLC expansions add in new areas and you can ether buy them or pay the monthly sub to have access to all of them.

Not trying to step on anyone's toes, but is it just me or does this look awful, even maxed out?

Bought the £8 base edition in the end, as I thought surely I would get more than my money's worth out of that, even if I just treated it like Skyrim. I'm away until Sunday so won't get to play it for a while though.

If I like it, I'll wait for coins to go on sale and get the DLC. Presume there's enough to keep me interested for a while though.

So is anyone here still playing this on PS4? I've been hooked the past week. It starts off really slowly and is dull and plodding, but once it opens up, it's a massive time sink.

It's perhaps much more immediate than Skyrim, as due to its MMO nature there's always another quick 10-15 minute thing to do nearby. I have so many quests back logged already, and looking at the in-game achievements there's a fuckton of content even without the DLC

It's lacking a bit of Skyrim's depth in terms of world-building and single player quests (I don't really invest much in what people are asking me to do, and you can't interact with the world as much as you do in the main games), but generally I'm really enjoying it.

Could do with some people to team up with for the group content.

Also I've sort of messed up my character a little bit. Tempted to start a different one in a different alliance. There seems quite a lot of depth to the character builds you can create.

Haven't tried PVP yet, but I'm up to level 13 or so. Shame I'm going back to the UK at the weekend and have to abandon the game for three and a half weeks.

picked this up in november for 10 quid and after chatting to a mate of mine we decided to start playing this together on the PS4. First go of it yesterday and i really enjoyed it, it's quite a streamlined MMO but i really like that, i could go around and do bits and pieces, some of the missions were quite interesting and the fact that you can just freely go wherever was brilliant. I never played an elder scrolls game before ever though so this was all fresh to me, chatting to my friend who is a big elder scrolls fan he said this was nothing really like it other than the setting and characters but i really enjoyed it. Obviously as well with two people playing and chatting it was probably even more fun but what i did play solo was good and quite a nice game to chill out with.
