. You used to be able to just buy stuff (using the in-game Crown currency via real cash) and, whilst it was often expensive, at least you got what you wanted. Now it seems that all the cool stuff is instead only available via loot boxes... which cost a fortune and have crazily low drop rates. The drop rates aren't even officially published;
thankfully fan sites are sharing them, though. Of course, this is NOT GAMBLING, even though it is. Overall, this aspect of the game makes me feel a bit sick.
But the gameworld remains huge and it looks great; I enjoy travelling around and seeing the sites. I need to get my head around the basics again but it's fun to play so I plan on sticking with it. Just gotta ignore the loot box-fest.

Does anyone here know if you can play online on two different accounts on two different PS4s using the license trick to only actually buy one copy from the store?

Not at the same time since you have to actually login to the games own servers, not just PSN. I think your PSN account get a linked to a Bethesda account for it, so it'll detect the same account trying to login twice

The new "Zone Guide"
is coming soon as part of a free update. It sounds neat; an optional guidance system for folk who may not be too sure about what to do or where to go. This could help make the game a bit more approachable for newcomers as well as giving pointers for others who may be trying to seek out everything that the game has to offer.

Zone Guide
The sheer number of things to do in each zone in ESO can be daunting. To help you find and complete more content in each zone, we have implemented a new Zone Guide feature.
You can access the Zone Guide from the Group & Activity Finder (Options button by default), from the announcement panel, or pressing X from any overland zone map. From here, you can see up to 4 featured achievements for the zone along with your completed and uncompleted activities for the following:
Main Story Quests
Wayshrines
Delves
Group Delves
Points of Interest
Striking Locales
Set Stations
Mundus Stones
Public Dungeons
World Events (Dark Anchors, Abyssal Geysers)
World Bosses
Skyshards
Shalidor’s Library Books
Your progress towards completing these activities can also be seen on any overland zone map, as seen by the default touch pad. From the Zone Guide, you can press a button on the bottom of the screen to guide you to the location of your next uncompleted activity from the ordered list above (excluding Skyshards and Shalidor’s Library Books).
For example, if you have not completed the Main Story Quests, pressing the button will guide you to the quest giver for the next quest in the quest line (if you already have a Main Story Quest for the zone in your quest journal, you will be guided to the next step of that quest).
I haven't played the game at all since a little flurry last December - Final Fantasy XIV has taken over my gaming life! - but I will logon tonight and check out this new feature. I'm hoping that the guide will act as a steer for folk less familiar with the game. Trouble is, I am unsure that my brain can cope with trying to play two MMOs simultaneously and I don't really want to be drawn back into paying monthly subs for two games. Unless I stop all other game purchases. Hmmn...

ESO will be
free to download and play from later today until next Wednesday 3 April. Definitely worth a look if you want to try out a MMO title. Oh, and yes, there will be a big download... it's a huge game!

I've been in and out with this game early on in its life and never clicked. After taking a look at the improvements and the dlc content available I really want to give this a go again! Anyone here still play this? Need some advice for a total noob!

I have played for a little bit many times over the past few years... but I'm definitely not that knowledgable about the game, even though I enjoy it. I'd like to play more but I just can't fit the game in at the moment whilst juggling Fallout 76 and FF XIV.

When I played it once with Dragon from here it was alright, I think for me this is a game where I'd need to play with friends. Unlike FFXIV where playing on my own was great fun.

Apologies for the mega-bump, does anyone know if you can play on the US servers with the UK version of the game from Steam? Or would I need to buy the US version?
Edit: Google seems to suggest I can.
Kinda curious, what information do I need from my friend to join them? Just server? Or can you freely move servers with a character? Also are there factions (like Horde / Alliance)? Is there anything that matters when creating my character / class that will affect my joining up with them?

Hey, BAKA. Characters, Crowns (cosmetic / loot box currency) and DLC (game areas) are specific to the server that the you created / bought them on i.e. EU (Europe) or NA (North America).
There are three alliances in game and you may wish to be part of the same one as your friend; you choose this as a part to of the character creation process. It's not so important for PvE (Player vs Environment) but can impact PvP (Player vs Player).
Some aspects of the main quest line are solo but there are multiplayer challenges (dungeons) where you can team-up. I've experienced multi-player in Final Fantasy XIV but not in ESO; I get the impression that it's not quite so easy to play with friends in ESO but I'm keen to hear from your experience!

Thanks Jawa! Been looking into the three alliances you mentioned, seems it could be important for a specific area. Hopefully it's easy to get into and I can catch my friend up. Really looking forward to starting, massive download though.
