Managed to fit in an hour or so just there and so far it's brilliant.

Mostly used the move controllers which are great, but there's no way to walk backwards (Not that I've found yet) other than pointing the left controller at yourself and pressing forward, which isn't exactly quick or comfortable.

Switched to the DS4 for the last ten minutes which makes it control like the original game (Mostly), but you lose the motion controls for combat. It's gonna take some back and forth to see what I prefer though.

I've never had any problems with that in VR. Certainly standing up when walking forward feels weird, but sat down it's perfectly fine (Again, for me).

Everyone has their own tolerances for it though I guess.

If you get the chance to try it, then definitely go for it.

Yeah my friend has to play Resi 7 with the twitch turning instead of a normal smooth turn yet I'm fine with it. Also he wants me to ask you if it has that setting.

Just checked and there is the option of incremental or smooth turning. Incremental is the usual snap-to position you get in VR games. That also has the option of being instant or gradual. I prefer gradual on that.

Smooth is like using the right-stick to look in any game, it just doesn't let you look up or down at all. It's pretty fast though.

It's very customisable to how you want to play it.

EDIT: That's for the DS4 controls. Move also has the incremental turns and allows the gradual or instant turns.

So if Skyrim VR runs at 60FPS what's their excuse for not getting the normal enhanced version running at that on the Pro and One X?

Presumably the control scheme they were talking about restricts up and down to head movement rather than the controller. From the sound of it the VR version offers a lot of different control schemes to allow for motion sickness.

Although I had Skyrim for PS3 I never spent much time with it so I'm very tempted by the VR version. I haven't used my VR in quite awhile so this could be the game to get me back into it.

Only if you're in a neck brace.

First impressions after a brief play last night

- it's dog ugly, maybe even sub PS3.
- lots of options with regards movement but teleportation selected as default. Would have been nice to get a little tutorial in there to trial each type. Don't like the forward movement being locked to where you point the move controller but I guess it allows easier strafing.
- not sure whether Skyrim (or any 100s of hours RPG) should be in vr

+ menus integrates nicely
+ it's full Skyrim in VR
+ dat strawberry floating immersion :datass:

Can't find Skyrim VR on steam :?

Read it's exclusive to ps4, what the strawberry float bethesda :fp:

Timed exclusive. Fallout 4 VR coming out soon on PC but nothing else. Probably didn’t want the two to cannibalise each others sales so it makes sense.

It’ll be worth the wait though.

What's the deal with switching regions on your Nintendo account?

I tried it once for buying Sonic Mania, but when I went to the page to switch regions I got a warning that doing so would un-link something, I can't recall what now, so I didn't do it.

Just imagine if they could put in a level editor. It would be the almost perfect device for creating dungeons for games of D&D. You wouldn't need a character just have the dungeons and outside areas on a screen in the middle of the table and maybe be able to link devices to show different areas of the map if the group splits up or an overview map it could take D&D to a whole new level and I don't think it would be that hard to create.

You'd still have character figures on a separate card tile for the intricate character movement but the extra level of detail of the overall areas could be amazing.

Today I played Skyrim on my lunch break. It's everything I ever wanted out of life.
