I'll be there day 1 whenever TES 6 comes out, I adored Skyrim and still play it regularly now on my Switch, I'm tempted to finally get around to installing some mods when I get my Series X but past the unofficial patch to fix numerous bugs and the like I'm not sure which ones are a must.

Edit, I can still see this coming out on other platforms, Skyrim was massive for them so selling it on the PS5 down the line would make sense to recoup some of the 7.5 billion they spent on Bethesda alongside Xbox/Game Pass sales. Sadly don't see it coming to the Switch until Switch 2 is a thing though as I just don't think it'd be anywhere near powerful enough for it.

You need to get Inigo. A wonderfully created follower, fully voiced, able to interact with other followers, and with a decent questline to accompany him.

I've always got a Skyrim save on the go - currently dipping in and out of the Switch version, about 70 hours logged so far on that. Skyrim on the bog is just the best :toot:

I'll keep that one in mind, thanks. Any other must haves? Graphically with the One X update I dare say it'll look fine without too much work but I do remember reading about more immersive rain and snow so was going to look into that one. Can Inigo still be killed by your character then?

Skyrim VR did breathe some new life into it for me. I haven't played a gooseberry fool ton because it gets a bit wearying after a while, but it says something that walking from Whiterun to Solitude and crossing past the little Dark Brotherhood shack and I realised I could look up and strawberry floating see Solitude up on the mountain.

For a ten year old game it says a lot that there's still wow moments in it.

Did a man with 6 fingers on his right hand kill Inigo's father by any chance?

I wonder if this means ES6 will be out sooner than expected if they can hire a few more people or use tech from other developers within Microsoft Studios?

ES6 is coming AFTER Starfield so, no, I doubt it.

from late 2022 it's gonna be nuts if you're a WRPG fan on Xbox: Fable, Avowed, TES6, Starfield and InXile's new 'AAA' RPG...

What year was Skyrim out? 2011? Over a decade between Elder Scrolls games!

If it comes out in 2023 which seems plausible given the early state it was supposed to be in and the fact that Starfield is likely coming first then that will have been 12 years since Skyrim. In the first 12 years of the series lifespan we got Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind and Oblivion! (Not to mention several Elder Scrolls Travels spin-off games)

Good job they've been using that time to switch to and get used to a new game engine.

Oh.

Is Fallout 76 still using the same engine as well? The last few games have been on the "Creation Engine" which as far as I'm aware is still based on the Gamebryo engine which powered Morrowind back in 2002. Way to milk your shitty tech Bethesda!

The engine can't even handle ladders for strawberry float sake.

Iirc The division was built on a new game engine which is now being phased out in favour of a new engine for next gen so they've had 2 in that time.

Isn’t it something to do with the engine that chests in your house starts to massively lag when managing it after you’ve got loads of items in there? Or is that down to the hardware I’ve put a lot of hours into (so 360 and Switch, not put as many into the Xbox One version yet).

12 years between Skyrim and this as well

I love Skyrim too. Got it on 360, PS4, Switch. The Switch version has had the most play by far at around 100hrs. Love it

I'm rather addicted to Skyrim on and off. Even though the PC version is better thanks to mod, I've still got a game on the go with the Switch version even when at home, using it to try some different things to my usual.

Play as a High Elf mage rather than my usual Breton jack of all trades, siding with the Dawnguard rather than the Vampires, becoming a Werewolf instead of a Vampire Lord, all still new things to do even 9 years later.

I just miss not being able to mod/console out carry capacity limits :slol:
