I’ve spent far too much time trying to figure out:
a) what is on their head?
b) what were they hoping to achieve?

I want to give Skyrim vr a go at some point, as I have it on psvr thanks to the mega pack. Hopefully the ps5 can run it and improve the image density or something.

Funny to think that those of use who were there at the beginning of Skyrim have been waiting forver for a new elder scrolls, but it's released so much that for some people the gap may only be a few months.

Yep, some people may have just got around to finishing Skyrim (main quest I might add, as you can spend countless hours doing everything but if you wanted) by the time this comes out, I’m going to give it one more fresh play through on the Series X, get some mods downloaded and installed, do some early game levelling and then wreck havoc and then probably get bored before moving onto something else which is what usually happens with a new game on Skyrim these days! I’ve still not even completed either of the DLC yet :fp: that’s what I’m doing on my current Switch run, well one more quest and then I’m going to start Dawnguard......

I’ve no idea how it’d be in VR, just thinking about trying to track a dragon makes me feel a bit sick

It does look a little janky on PS4 but the immersion is incredible, give it a punt on PS4.

I've put hundreds of hours into Skyrim across the original release and the Special Edition and still haven't touched the DLC either!

Worse than that is Oblivion where I have equally dumped hundreds of hours into it and yet have never actually progressed the main quest line. As far as I know Jauffre is still waiting for me wherever Patrick Stewart or the Blade guy at the start tells you to go and meet him! :slol:

Well I’m hoping Oblivion gets put on Game Pass and then I can finally give it a go! Probably won’t play it as much as Skyrim or even to completion mind.

Now the weather's started to cool down, I'm very tempted to fire up VR skyrim and see if I can actually make some progress with the quests, rather than just spend 100 hours installing mods.

I actually found it quite refreshing when the Special Edition came out because at first there really weren't many mods around so it was nice to just play the game "as is" and not spend half the time faffing about with mod ordering and the like!

Mods have always been my downfall for Skyrim, I get so caught up in modding the bloody thing that I never actually play the sodding thing.

I was start with “I’ll just do making people prettier as they are ugly” then end up caught up in hour on hour of tinkering then end up never playing it.

It’s shame here isn’t a mega installer somwhere pretty mod setup that you can just run to install a preconfigured mod world so you don’t get caught up tinkering then drift off from the game by the end.

I don’t plan on installing that many when I do hopefully a final run of it, definitely be installing the unofficial patch, Ingio sounds like a must as well. I guess maybe a couple of graphical ones, I’ve seen one about better rain and snow and is there just one that generally improves the graphics? Past that I guess it comes down to what play style you’re going for and adding mods in accordingly?

The UI mod for Skyrim is a must, but beyond that I find a lot of mods don't really change the core experience of the game in a huge way. It still pretty much has all the same strengths/weaknesses, you can just prettify & finetune it a bit.

Even on the base Xbox One (and Switch even) it still looks like a very nice game, especially the skies which as a traveler you have to watch.

I think Bethesda are good at putting together big open worlds that look nice and contain a lot of funny premises to blow something up or stab something. I'm sure TESVI will have weird cults (to kill), an abundance of trinkets (to steal), entertainingly stupid characters (to assassinate), and lots of OP magic that you can get into funny situations in.

I think they're bad at telling a cohesive story. Their stories don't really have interesting plots or coherent themes. The main quest has been a low point of every Bethesda game I've played. They also really need a new engine because their games are always glitchy as anything.

I'll buy TESVI regardless and I'm sure I'll have fun. I liked Oblivion and Skyrim after all.

The main quest is almost not the point of Bethesda games. It's basically only there because people expect one.

I don’t actually know if we have a general Elder Scrolls thread (imagine there is a Skyrim knocking about somewhere) but I’ve just started Dawnguard for the first time :toot:

Looking at Inigo and he looks and sounds like a great follower! I’ll probably ask when I actually get around to starting a modded run which ones to install (and which order as I have no idea how much difference that makes?).

Yeah the story is generally crap in Elder Scrolls games, most games have crap stories really. I love them though, the sense of first person freedom and exploration is amazing and I just don't get that from many other games at all. Each new Elder Scrolls game feels like a special event to me.

£39.99 digitally on the PS4.

Sod that. I’ve added it to my wishlist and hopefully it’ll be on sale.
