I think we should absolutely split season finale and then the first episode of the next season across weeks. We need to build up a bit of tension. Especially the finale of TNG Season 3....

Is there much tension these days? Surely we all know that Picard wakes up and that whole Borg business was just a dream!?

Star Trek VI - The Undiscovered Country

Love it.
I don't think it's quite as good as Wrath of Khan, but it's very close.
strawberry floating love Christopher Plummer, who just chews the scenery at every opportunity.
Great cameo by Michael Dorn as well (Playing Worfs Grandfather I believe), not to mention Christian Slater (I think his mother was the casting director) popping up for one scene.
Story is nice and satisfying and is a nice explanation of how peace with the Klingons came about.
But more than anything it's a great send-off for the original crew. While we see the odd cameo from time to time, we never get them all together like this again, so it's always a bit emotional.

There's a definite vibe around the TOS movies that we never really see after this.

So all in a fantastic movie and a fantastic farewell to the original crew.

NEW THREAD TIME

I've posted the new thread, which will take us through TNG and up to Star Trek: Nemesis, all over the course of the next 50 weeks!

t:epic-star-trek-re-watch---the-next-generation---season-1-week-1-starts-sunday-new-thread

This thread will remain open for anyone wanting to catch up and discuss TOS era episodes and movies, but as of Sunday 20/02/2022 the main re-watch will be taking place on the new thread.

A big thanks to everyone who has taken part so far and gotten involved in the discussion. Especially Moggy and Jenuall who have pushed through everything we have done so far with me.
