Wait, so they're confirming that in the event of no deal then the entire UK will remain in the single market and customs union?

Seems like it. It would have to be whole of the UK rather than just Northern Ireland to avoid a border down the Irish Sea. So it looks to me like a no deal hard Brexit isn't possible. We either have an agreement or we all follow the single market and customs union rules.

We're still leaving. It's still Brexit. It'll be interesting if we get a power play against May.

That post is highly inaccurate.

Greece will still have an actual say in EU legislation. :slol:

Honestly, the only way to solve this problem is to have the entire UK in the CU/SM, so the DUP don't see this as NI diverging. It was agreed in December when the DUPpers threw the toys out of the pram.

Of course the other solution would be to cancel this whole strawberry floating pile of nonsense and try and solve the problems that fuelled this vote.

Or Ireland could leave the EU as well.

It is the obvious and logical choice, they really should respect the will of the people!

Why is Ireland so selfish about this? Leave with us and let’s rebuild the glorious British Empire!

We should just stop potato exports. They'll invoke Article 50 within the hour.

NI existing under different rules than the rest of the UK is not an acceptable solution to me. How on Earth is losing free access to the UK any better than losing free access to the Republic? We're strawberry floated in either scenario. So in that regard I am in line with the DUP rejection of the proposal. The difference, of course, is that I wasn't one of the eejits who campaigned for this mess in the first place.

It's turning into ERG vs DUP, with over 66million people caught in the crossfire.
