So due to our red lines, they're only offering a free trade deal. No single market cherry-picking. Shocking news!

No deal could mean no planes so you might be right there.

Let’s brick up the Channel Tunnel, sink all of the boats and scrap all of the planes. It’s about time we went back to pre-Roman invasion Britain and stopped all this travelling to the continent rubbish. :x

There are people that I know who genuinely think the UK should just raise the drawbridge and close the curtains. This desperate need to be isolationist to preserve some sacred notion of "British life" (whatever the strawberry float that is) is so perplexing.

It’s because they believe in a mythical golden age, where Britain was the major global power and everything was wonderful at home. Sunshine, cricket and tea on the village green while Queen Victoria reigned over the greatest empire ever known.

What they forget is that we don’t have Queen Victoria, we have Theresa May. And they are not getting cricket on the village green, they are going to the workhouse.

A lot of 'we hope to...' probably. Will business leaders move elsewhere for actual certainty?

The UK were in, and wanted a lot of opt-outs. Now they are out, but they want a lot of opt-ins

The worst part is that with the NHS in such a state the burns units we so badly need won't be able to help.

You know which one is the land of hope and glory! Our new Jerusalem! It's fields of gold. The little rivers. The home of the brave and not at all foolhardy.

Is that a description of Dublin, Cork or Limerick?

Tusk is not taking any prisoners, and just points out that the UK's red lines mean a certain reality - and they need to face up to it

So, reading over the latest EU proposals we haven't moved on ANYTHING.

What's May/Davis being doing for the past 20 months?

May spent a lot of time planning a surprise election to “crush the saboteurs”.

Davis spent a lot of time hiding all the paperwork that he keeps being given.

The UK government obviously still seems this as some sort of political negotiation (and massively overvalues it's hand)

The EU is rule based and legally minded - it's applying the rules and pragmatically and realistically as it can.

Until the UK changes it's tone, I can't see any movement
