To be fair to them I think they tried their best on the first reading. They probably recognise that they are not going to be able to force any changes through and have given up. It's sad but understandable -- the Lords can only really make suggestions, and it's very clear at this point that those suggestions are going to be ignored. :(

Every single one in Parliment who's bowing down and kissing Teresa May's foot should be expelled from the chambers. They're letting her basically act as a dictator on this.

Also, why don't parliment want a meaningful vote for them at the end of it? It makes no sense.

They're mainly afraid of voting against what their constituents voted for in the referendum, even if those constituents voted against their own best interests. The MPs are voting with a thought process of "How can I make sure I get re-elected?" rather than "What is best for the people I have been elected to represent?"

The irony is the majority of people probably don't want this. By pandering to voters they will do themselves long term harm. I won't vote for any of the strawberry floaters ever and will never vote Tory ever. They cannot be trusted with the country.

Maybe the job centres should stock up on bin men uniforms then?

No protection for those currently living here is pretty disgraceful though :fp:

See for me as a leaver I see no issue in vote rejecting the final deal. If Teresa May comes back like Cameron did with a gooseberry fool deal, I'd fully support voting against it. However we have a severe problem with the media in this country in that they simply wouldn't report it like that but make up stories about MPs defying the will of the people.

Not to give parliament a say on the final agreed deal just makes no sense.

All the talk of Parliament having a say on the final deal is a bit misleading imo. May is going to demand all sorts of things from the EU. The EU are going to say no. 2 years will pass and we will be out with no deal and operating under WTO rules.

Parliament voting on that will be irrelevant as there will not actually be any other options.

I think the idea behind the amendment was that Parliament could force May back to negotiations rather than have a no deal scenario.

Yes but there is a 2 year timeframe before we are out with no deal and it's bloody unlikely any deal will be reached in advance of that. What was Parliament going to do if May said "Well the two years are up, we have no deal because the EU are meanies and we will work under WTO rules"?

:slol:

Edit:

A club is probably a good way of describing it. We were members of a club that charged an annual membership fee but gave us cut price drinks in return. We were furious about that, why should we pay every year for membership of this club when there are loads of clubs out there? We are paying £10 a year for nothing and we don’t care that the other members of the club are telling us that getting £2 drinks in return is a bargain.

We stormed out and threw our membership card in the managers face. And we are now sat in the dive bar opposite paying £5 a drink. But goddamn it, at least we can choose to go to the other pubs that might only charge us £4.50 a drink.

How the general public feel on the EU citizens subject, according to UK YouGov:

And how that breaks down by political leaning:

Deal or no deal matters not as long as the country is out.

I'm ok with WTO rules if it has to be.

This is one of the many reasons I'm glad we're leaving. Clueless leftist idiots such as yourself really helped me to decide leave. But remoaners gotta remoan.

I love the attempted insult by Leavers that somehow people that wanted to Remain helped make up their minds for them. Chuck in a “clueless” and an “idiot” and then pretend that they are happy with their decision. Yeah, the clueless idiots are the ones that voted based on facts and logic, not the ones that voted based on other people annoying them with irritating things like evidence.

There really should be a test before important votes, as I really get the impression that certain people had no strawberry floating idea what they were voting for.
