I'm slightly worried about this as small pockets of NI are still staunchly Protestant and would not like this one bit. I hope it is something that happens, but we need to give it a lot more time. I was raised in a Protestant household and some of my family will never accept it.

My Dad still complains every time there's a news story from Ireland on the NI news :fp:

He wasn't happy about the Irish language appearing on the signs here recently too, especially as they put the Irish first and English second. Someone painted over the Irish pretty quickly (wasn't my Dad though, lol).

I'm still disappointed that Ireland denies me a passport despite my valid claim of having once attended a Wedding Present gig at the Irish Centre.
I'm sure I even supported them in the World Cup one time after England got knocked out. That's got to count for dual citizenship, right?

As somebody that recently claimed Irish citizenship, I think it is about time that the Irish government stopped the flood of applications and started to look after us Irishmen rather than the new English wannabes. The only true Irish people are those born there or who claimed citizenship before October 2017. :x

There are sacred rites that you need to pass in order to be deemed a true Irishman.

Dammit, I thought being deemed a true scotsman was the hard one. At least that's what my friend on the university debating society said....

Sudely the test for both is to just get blind drunk and swear incomprehensibly at anyone who comes within 50 feet.

If you are talking about the guy in the pink shirt and bow tie, I could not figure out if his question was pure trolling or if it was serious.

Mind you, I haven't seen the whole thing yet.

The department for Brexit has lost another Minister. Apparently it's the 3rd in 4 months.
