Yes, seem to be almost matching Mercedes even though they are on a slower tyre....

Yeah. Obviously it's testing blah blah.. :-) I loved the Ferrari car launch too. So short and sweet, none of the dreary bullshit which no one wants to watch; they just showed the car and that was it. So cool.

I think it was semi tongue-in-cheek, as Ferrari have made bold claims about car performance in previous seasons, so now they're playing it cool.

Ferrari still look good, I think it's encouraging that they haven't bothered with the quickest tyres much because it shows confidence in their speed.

Having said that, they looked great in testing last year and it didn't turn out so well.

I think Red Bull might be a bit disappointing, at least at the start of the season. Hopefully not!

McLaren appear to have had a shocker.

This is interesting. It's quite close in the medium to high speed stuff, but the 2017 car leaves it for dead in the lower speed section.

The speed difference from last year to this year is really noticeable that onboard side by side shows how faster they are out the corners. I just hope the camera angles this year can give the impression of speed Monaco should be good this year with these cars

I may put a bet on them winning every race this year. I think the problem is the engines are so fast they are breaking down because even at top speed they're basically just in idle mode and it's confusing them.

McLaren. :dread:

Quick lap Kimi today, not even on the ultra softs. I think Ferrari might be legit, which would be awesome!

Reliability aside, is the Honda engine competitive or does no one know yet?

I don't think so. Apparently they're having to run at 2015 levels of power at the moment,.

Ok. So putting aside the gooseberry fool reliability and performance, should be another good year for McLaren.

You get lingering shots of the sponsor logos when the car is stationary at the side of the track.

John Surtees has died aged 83. Was right by him at goodwood last year and it always amazed me he was not only still around but still driving cars.

Indeed, Surtees was one of those names that seemed to just be a constant in life. So sad that he had the tragedy of losing his son a few years ago too. One of the names that built the sport. I hope Moto GP and F1 do something to honour him at their first rounds.

So, the 2017 cars are three or three and half seconds faster?! :o

About time, I say. F1 is all about speed and glad it's faster.

New Force India livery to be unveiled in Melbourne:

Looks pretty cool. Most importantly though, the grid needed more variation in colour schemes so this is really good news

Edit- actually I'm not sure if it does look good but I'm just glad it'll create a more varied grid. There's been far too much grey, silver and black on the grid in the past.
