Deleted Facebook earlier today.

strawberry floated off with being advertised at all the strawberry floating time. All it is is adverts and gooseberry fool videos of people's "food hacks" and shitty tiktoks about their vapid lives.

Binned Instagram a few months back for the same reason too.

I've followed in Lewis' footsteps and deactivated my Facebook. Lately I've found myself scrolling just for the sake of it, and inevitably getting annoyed with all the shite on it.

People are constantly either bragging about lush holidays, gushing about how far along they are, or fawning over the fuck-ugly babies they already have.

Toss in the clickbait list articles, doomscrolling through the news, and the unsolicited post "suggestions" from nerd fanpages that are just memes regurgitated from elsewhere, and the whole experience just becomes a miserable waste of time.

Sick to the back teeth of it. :dread:

I don't mind nice little posts about "Ooh I'm on holiday" or "We done made a baby and we're quite proud" - I can just ignore those if I don't feel like interacting and I have quite a close group of contacts (i.e. people I did actually know at some point). I do find myself getting time wasted by Reels, especially ones that don't actually provide a payoff because they're just clips of a longer video on Instagram or TikTok. I probably should bin Facebook off to avoid scrolling through that clickshite (and Bored Panda crap), but I don't want to lose the quite useful connectivity with my friends and family. I started watching a few things during lockdown like Smosh's Try Not to Laugh, but they've stopped showing me them in my feed, despite me quite routinely interacting with those items!

Those strawberry floating fangirl posts that are just screen grabs of Reddit though :dread:

I keep getting ones for Supernatural. I don't watch Supernatural. I don't know anyone who has watched Supernatural. It took me about three months to with out they were about Supernatural. Stop showing me gooseberry fool about Supernatural!

If you've talked about it with anyone, or perhaps someone you know has mentioned it, that might be why.

Tense atmosphere in the Meta offices today, as the company’s latest chatbot has its say:

I don't know what that means, but I can't see anything different, the same whining people are whining.

That image, along with hundreds of other memes have been spammed to certain Facebook pages. If you follow bands or famous people on there then that's all you can currently see on your feed.

Ahh, that's probably why I haven't seen anything. I only follow the idiots I actually know. ;)

Am I right in thinking that the Soviet Union sent a probe to the planet Venus?

And took pictures to prove it?

I mean, for strawberry floats sake, it’s 2022.

Is That All You’ve Got?

A Moon Rocket?!?

Where’s the ambition?

Oh, we got scared off.

By who?

We destroyed an asteroid.

Sent by who?

Sent by people who feel threatened by Jeremy Corbyn.

Blame anybody and anything rather than admit that they hate themself more than anybody else

I barely ever go on Facebook anymore, but looked at it earlier and saw an old school friend seems to post nothing but antivaxx memes. Loads of them. Plus a photo of his kid (who looks about 6 or 7) with a caption of "unvaccinated kid, a PROPER boy!".

Yeah, that's enough Facebook for me for a while.
