Comfort is infectious

As I walked around a shopping centre I spotted a new store just about to open, It was a cushion store so I decided to take a look. On entering the store I was greeted by 3 men wearing hoods with holes cut in them and was told I was a hostage.

The men proceeded to tell me the rules.

They took my picture and told me they had other hostages in the back and if I left the store they could die. Their were cameras on the door and they had my picture and address from my wallet. I was to sit down and wait. This would all be over soon. When they get what they want.

I took a seat and as couple of minutes passed. I spotted a security guard and managed to get his attention. He entered the store and was greeted by the 3 men. He was told they had hostages in the back and to give them his gun. The guard gave the men his gun, They removed the bullets and gave it back to him. Then explained the rules saying he must enforce the rules or others could die and he was to tell others that enter the store the same.

After an hour or so the store was quite full. Their were lots of customers and security guards on the door stopping

people from leaving. Others where talking about what the motives of the men could be.

One said we should be quiet and someone would rescue us soon. Another thought it could be terrorist and they may have a device. Others, just a robbery gone wrong. One man stood up and said that’s it .”I cant even see these men I don't believe any of you I am leaving”. We all begged him to stay to help keep us safe and the guards told him to sit down, so he did.

This went on for sometime until we heard a man at the back of the store on a microphone ask for our attention. He then explained what had happened. He had employed a young manager with little experience and as it was opening day, gave him a challenge to keep the store full by any means possible. Even giving away personalised comfort cushions for every customer that came in the store . He apologised and said the manager had been fired and there would be harsh consequences for him and the 2 staff members involved. He then said to pick up your personalised cushions with your faces printed on them at the door and given vouchers for our next visit.

I hope this helps people understand you should never trade freedom for comfort and even idiots can have a good idea even if its not ethical.

I was so excited about initiating him into the world of Net banking.

He asked ''If I do that, I wont have to step out of the house?

''Yes, yes''! I said. I told him how even grocery can be delivered at door now and how amazon delivers everything!

His answer left me tongue-tied.

He said ''Since I entered this bank today, I have met four of my friends, I have chatted a while with the staff who know me very well by now.

You know I am alone...this is the company that I need. I like to get ready and come to the bank. I have enough time, it is the physical touch that I crave.

Two years back I got sick, The store owner from whom I buy fruits, came to see me and sat by my bedside and cried.

When your Mom fell down few days back while on her morning walk. Our local grocer saw her and immediately got his car to rush her home as he knows where I live.

Would I have that 'human' touch if everything became online?

Why would I want everything delivered to me and force me to interact with just my computer?

I like to know the person that I'm dealing with and not just the 'seller'. It creates bonds of Relationships.

Does Amazon deliver all this as well?'''
