strawberry floating hell, there's a local police Facebook page we keep an eye on to see what's going on in the area, and some convicted criminal is on the loose. On the article warning people about him, HE HAS COMMENTED ON IT warning people to keep their mouths shut if they see him    :fp:

I'll find it and post a link later.

Insanity wrote:More sad news for Policing following the murder of PC Andrew Harper in Thames Valley.
My view is that the Police Service are suffering the effects of a perfect storm. I think the seeds of the current sorry situation were sown in the 80s when corporal punishment was banned in schools. This allowed a generation of unchecked kids to grow up having no fear of consequences for wrongdoing. Then we had the watering down of recruitment standards to allow almost anybody to join the force quickly followed by political correctness and everybody gaining the right to be offended by anything. This led to the Police operating with their hands tied behind their backs. The final nail in the Police coffin was The Tory Government. Tough on crime and tough on the causes of crime was their mantra. What a load of old shite. Tough on the enforcers and protectors more like.
Teresa May has blood on her hands today. 6 years as Home Secretary and 3 years as PM and she led a vendetta against the police, slashing numbers, lowering morale and worst of all feeding the trashy British Press every negatively spun story about policing that she could in an attempt to justify her destruction of what was once a Force envied in every corner of the globe. The public believed all your lies and spin Teresa and criminals took advantage of a battered and beleaguered public service. Today, as a result of all of the above, we have to say goodbye to another brother who wanted to do the best for his community. RIP Andrew Harper. Your duty is done and your brothers and sisters in blue will take over for now. Thank you for your service.

I mean...why would you post this on Facebook? On what planet is corporal punishment to children acceptable or appropriate?

A hell of a lot of the murdered coppers on this list were killed before the 1990s

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of ... ne_of_duty

But yeah beating children will solve the problem.

"Fell through roof" seems to be a surprisingly common cause of death on that list.

Clearly a lack of corporal punishment at architectural college has led to the nation being filled with these shoddy buildings.

The amount of folk on my Facebook that have got involved in obviously dodgy multi-level marketing/pyramid scheme things is really annoying.

One of my wife's best friends has got into this for some reason. I thoroughly enjoyed the "I don't want to say I told you so but..." conversation I had with my wife last week when it emerged her friend was £500 down so far.

Quelle surprise.

£500 isn't that bad compared to some of the horror stories, especially from America.

They've only been doing it for two or three months. Hopefully they'll cut their losses. It's horrendous.
