It's made clear that everyone on the helicarriers is a HYDRA agent, but I don't think everyone in the Triskelion on the ground was, so it's quite feasible that some of them were caught in the blast.

Is it? The throwaway "if they're shooting at you they're bad guys" line is a real weak justification for going free for all IMO.

I haven't watched it in a while, but I think either Fury or Pierce actually explicitly says that they're all HYDRA, something about "all the men on the ships are ours/theirs." Might be wrong about that though!

Yeah admittedly I can't remember it exactly so if there's better justification given then that makes it easier to go along with! :toot:

And yes there's definitely been enough references to Walker's past to suggest he's suffering in a way that the serum is only going to exacerbate. His conversation with Hopkins about whether he would take the serum given the choice was very enlightening

Yeah! The show has been quite good at dropping expository dialogue without it seeming like an information dump. We know just enough about the guy to know that something's gone badly wrong, but not too much to make it explicitly obvious. Well, up until Bucky was like "Walker's a nut," towards the end of the episode.

No problem with his Nazi hits obviously, but he didn't really flinch when moving from killing full on obvious baddies to just taking out whoever he was pointed at in the subsequent movies!

There are two whole films about him flinching at being pointed in the way of ambiguous targets!

Yeah but it's just lip service, throughout all of his appearances he's smashing the strawberry float out of people who aren't necessarily evil!

Looking at his kill count on that website, he's killed 151 people/things. 54 of them were Nazis, 18 were aliens, 13 were terrorists holding people hostage on a boat, 27 were HYDRA agents(more Nazis!), 26 were robots, and five were Thanos aliens. I think they're all pretty nailed on bad dudes. Of the other 8, 7 of them were a UN squad who were ordered to kill Bucky on sight so you could probably argue self defence, then a random soldier in Avengers who I think was hypnotised by Loki, which was a bit gooseberry fool but again, self defence. So I'm not really with you there.

He rips the strawberry float through SHIELD HQ and the Heli carriers in Winter Soldier, there's absolutely no way that all of the people who die as a result of that are HYDRA

The hilarious thing is every week there's people complaining that they're exposing everything too often and it's dumb writing, then those same people were acting as if Walker didn't take the serum because they never showed how inspite of showing him doing feats of superhuman strength.

Like they literally showed him:

1. Embedding his shield into the wall.
2. Kicking a super soldier through a door and down the stairs.
3. Bending a metal bar around a dude.

Based on everything we've seen so far that's clearly a non-serum walker feat.

Best episode yet.

I'm a bit unclear on what anyone in the show is trying to achieve though.

The shield embedding into the wall should have been enough of a giveaway on it's own.

I've also seen comments that the effects of the serum were to quick. I'm guessing none of them watched the Captain America: The First Avenger.

Yeah it was blindingly obvious but some people are clearly not up to our speed!

I think the only thing that makes me slightly sympathetic (and I said this after the second episode) is that they made "normal" walker too capable - he shouldn't have been able to weild the shield as effectively as he did and go toe to toe with the super flag smashers in that first fight.

Yeah, I thought the "peak human, we even did lab tests on him!" justification was weak

One thing you have to take into consideration regarding the show is that the story had to to be changed well into filming as the Flag Smashers were meant to release a virus that killed millions around the world.

The scientist in Madripoor also says it's been massively improved since then (negating the need for all the machines etc.) so we're comparing Jenner dropping cowpox into a cut vs Pfizer BioNtech.

Wow really. I didn't know that

That's really interesting.

Questions about the Wakandans and potential script changes - the woman at the end of Ep 3/start of Ep 4 is the head general from Black Panther isn't she? I know the head of the elite unit in the red that actually has the fight is a different woman.

1) Was she supposed to be Chadwick Boseman?
2) Is she dressed in black because T'Challa is dead in universe?

I thought Chadwick didn't let on to most people about his condition?

This was more like it; my fave ep so far! Which was a bit of a surprise, after the disappointing ep3. Hopefully they can maintain this quality up until the end, which isn't too far away now.
